Taken 2 Poster

Bad Ass Neeson

Taken 2 will open in the UK and US on October 5th 2012

Taken 2 has begun to step up its marketing campaign, with the release of a moody new poster following last week's unveiling of the first trailer and the  international trailer.

The new poster shows Neeson shrouded in shadow and clutching a revolver, with a big old "2" behind him, for the benefit of anyone who hadn't realized it's a sequel. Once again, he doesn't look a man to be trifled with...

The new film follows Bryan Mills (Neeson) as he embarks upon a family holiday to Istanbul with his wife (Famke Janssen) and daughter (Maggie Grace). Unfortunately for him, he's being trailed by some sinister men, working on behalf of the father (Rade Serbedzija) of one of the kidnappers Mills dispensed with in the first film.

It isn't long before a family member has been snatched (Mrs. Mills, this time around), but as in the first film, former CIA man Mills isn't shy about breaking a few necks to ensure he gets his loved ones back in one piece.
Directed by Olivier Megaton, Taken 2 opens in the UK and the US on the 5th October, 2012. In the meantime, you can check out the poster in full, below...

Taken is hands down one of my favorite Liam Neeson films. Count me in on this! I'm not expecting them to bring anything new but since I liked their first batch of cookies I have no problem if they use the same cookie cutter on this next round.

So... ex-wife ditched her millionaire husband to get back together with Neeson's character? Okay, we'll see how that happens, I guess.

Taken it 2 the a$$.  Because, this is Liam cashing out again.  For all those idiots who had unanswered questions from the first moderately entertaining film...here ya go.

The gun in the poster above *isn't* a revolver. *just saying*

I liked the first film but I think I'll skip this one. While it gives a reason for the action to happen to him again -as opposed to the first 2 and maybe 4th Die Hard films (I forget when it comes to 4 just what the justification was) for the Neeson's character to face the same thing again, the fact it happens while he is in a foreign country which his character railed against in the first film for the dangers of just leaves me questioning why his character suddenly got so dumb.

Um, his character wasn't planning on his family was being there. If you watch the preview you'd know that. He was where he was on a business obviously. What business that is remains to be seen.

@MJE Sorry, didn't watch the trailer, just went by the write up in the article which says he is on a family holiday.
