Scoop Feedback:

November 17, 2003... Continuing their production relationship, Paramount Pictures and MTV Films have announced plans for a horror movie titled THE DAY OF THE DEAD. While it may bring to mind images of another George Romero zombie remake, this DAY OF THE DEAD is about the Mexican holiday that falls the day after Halloween. The movie was pitched to the studio by screenwriter Diego Gutierrez, who's booted around TV for the past few years. Gutierrez served as story editor on NBC's short-lived KINGPIN show and turned in a sixth season episode of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER.

Alan Rich and Peter Rich will produce the movie. [The Hollywood Reporter.]
