DC Comics' illustrator James N. Aparo, who worked for the comic book publisher for over 30 years, has died. Aparo drew such characters as Batman, the Green Arrow, Aquaman, Spectre and more. He was 72.

"His big break came in the late 1960s when he was working for Charlton Press and his editor got a job at DC. The editor, Dick Giordano, brought Aparo with him to the comic book maker."

Aparo once said, "I just drew as a kid and went with it. I studied and copied comic strips and comic books. I grew up with Superman, Batman, and Captain Marvel."

Aparo, you were indeed wonderful. Fondest wishes to the family.

Jezuitx, Shame on you for showing absolutely no compassion at all. It's people like you who make me ashamed to be human. Jim Aparo created comics. Cinescape covers comics. Therefore it's only reasonable they'd cover the death of a comics icon. Do us all a favor and go away.
