DC Comics is working with Comixology to promote their "Event Books" by putting out several of their series with the first issues for free on the service. This includes their web browsing section as well as the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch devices. The promotion is being done as a tie-in to the NBC Universal series debuting this fall, "The Event", in which Comixology is offering up an eight page advertisement that has the premise of the series and a look at the main cast of actors, their noteworthy roles and the writers behind the series. Each character gets their own page and a brief bio to help familiarize readers with it and hopefully entice them to checking out the show.
We get free comics because of it, which is pretty much a win. But which comics are free?

Hopefully DC Comics will follow through quickly with follow-up issues to these launch issues rather than dangling the first in front of us and leaving us hanging.
