DC Has an Identity Crisis
By: Tony WhittDate: Wednesday, September 01, 2004
In preparation for over a year now, the eight-part IDENTITY CRISIS miniseries will enormously impact the DC Universe. It won't, however, leave the same sort of impact as that other Crisis, according to Dan DiDio, Vice-President-Editorial for DC Comics.
"When people hear the word 'crisis,' they think of worlds melting, people dying, the status quo changing enormously," says DiDio. "What we're doing [with IDENTITY CRISIS] is telling a deep, rich story that affects the overall tonality of the DC Universe and makes it a little more dangerous place for our heroes to be. It's more an emotional crisis than a physical crisis. This isn't about universesthis is about our characters' lives. [As such,] it should resonate much more deeply with our readers."
