Paramount Pictures has signed Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Claire Danes, Sienna Miller and Charlie Cox to star in STARDUST.

The story centers on Tristian (Cox), who, in order to win the heart of his beloved (Miller), promises to fetch a falling star named Yvaine (Danes). This sets in motion an adventure in which Tristian and Yvaine must face off against a pirate named Captain Shakespeare (De Niro) and an evil witch (Pfeiffer).

Matthew Vaughn will direct from a script he wrote with Jane Goldman, which they based on Neil Gaiman's fantasy novel.

SOUNDS LIKE A SILLY PREMISE. I LIKE BOTH DENIRO AND Pfeiffer but not in a nonsense movie like this.

Instead of Michelle Pfeiffer, they should have gotten Barbara Streisand to play the evil witch... no need for her to have to "get into character" - just act normally ...

Well stated Jimmycd3 Gaiman is anything but a hack. He is one of the most interesting and challenging writers of fiction today.
