DEAD OR ALIVE you're coming to Hollywood

Video game project finds new partners

Mindfire Entertainment has had the movie rights to Tecmo's DEAD OR ALIVE video game franchise for a little more than a year. Now comes word that the Mindfire peeps have new partners to help them realize the film, namely, Paul W.S. Anderson and Jeremy Bolt's Impact Pictures and German production company Constantin Films.

Anderson and Bolt will produce the DEAD OR ALIVE feature alongside Mindfire's Mark A. Altman. They've already hired screenwriter J.F. Lawton (UNDER SIEGE) to pen the script and would like to start production later this year. The producers are targeting a fall 2004 release which would coincide with Tecmo's DEAD OR ALIVE 4 video game.

No one's attached to the project but there were rumors a year back that Rachel Weisz and Jonny Lee Miller were mulling offers.
