Do TV characters ever really stay dead?

We at Cinescape began to wonder... With the recent deaths of not one, but two major characters on ANGEL (Charisma Carpenter's Cordelia and Amy Acker's Fred), not to mention the fact that Spike (James Marsters) joined the cast this yearafter dying an unforgettable, and seemingly incontrovertible, death in BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER's series finalewhat of the many other genre TV regular characters who have been killed off over the years? Did they truly stay dead, or eventually claw their way out of the grave in order to satisfy some writer's block-stricken scribe? Do TV characters ever really die? Here are a few cases to ponder, off the top of our heads...
