From the author of THE POLAR EXPRESS and JUMANJI, the director of ELF, and the composer of SIN-CITY, ELF, THE SCORPION KING, CUTTHROAT ISLAND and THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, comes ZATHURA, a sci-fi adventure of two squabbling brothers who are propelled into deepest, darkest space while playing a mysterious game they discovered in the basement of their old house. On their fantastic journey, they are joined by a stranded astronaut and must survive meteor showers, hostile lizard-like aliens, a rocket-propelled robot run amok and an intergalactic spaceship battle. But, unless they finish the game and reach the planet Zathura, they are doomed to be trapped in outer space forever.

ZATHURA is based on the best-selling book by the acclaimed children's writer Chris Van Allsburg. The heroic adventure score for ZATHURA was composed by John Debney. Featuring broad, sweeping themes, the film allowed Debney the opportunity of writing one of his grandest symphonic scores. Varese Sarabande will release the soundtrack album on November 22nd.
