This movie could be one of those movies gets a mediocre US box office. But i wouldnt be suprised if it did 500 mill world wide. Hell battleship was 200 and this looks way better then that (insert derogatory phrase).
Doesn't Spielberg consider Hook his worst film. A great idea and quality cast all of them have oscars except the kids, I believe. I am not sure why there haven't been more after happily ever after movies. We get prequels to high heaven.
This is probably as close as Neon Genesis we will ever see. Pre moeblob/jump anime every third one seemed to involve monsters and robots. Luckily I like giant mosnters and robots. This could potentially have a huge global box office. I am not sure so sure US audeinces will go and see it. Something about GDT doesn't seem to click with general public.
So go watch it. That is all.
Pretty excited to see Oblivion. I really enjoy movies filmed with Imax in mind. I hope that Christopher Nolans next film is all Imax. The scenes in Batman movies shot with Imax are so epic.
Was the real make up over cgi better? Also how did this affect the cost. I am a little weird, not a huge Evil Dead fan. But I love Army of Darkness.
This comes out and James Cameron back burners Battla Angel. Not belittling this movie. I am interested in seeing it. Its just very similar premise of Battle angel
I would be happy if Disney made an hour long daft punk music video. I love the soundtrack. It seems like Disney hopes that Tron will become a franchise along the lines of Star Wars or something.
I don't see it being anymore then a B franchise in comparison to other ones. They need to figure out how to keep the budget down. CGI was suppose to be the answer to production costs. The price of heavy CGI movies I think they could build real life models and replicas cheaper.
A little surprised you didn't use this chance to talk about Veronica Mars kickstarter and what it means for genre TV going forward. Unless you have a much larger article.
I like the idea of Bates Motel. I am open to prequel/retells. But I just can't beinterested in most of these shows. Walking Dead and Game of Thrones has direction but alot of this stuff just flounders around. The idea as a 12 episode well thought out show amasing. Network meandering cash cow milking no thanks. 30 minute comedies can rehash and circle around. Shows that sell a decent plot can not.
I am with every one else. The first one was lots of fun. Malkovich is a serious comedic beast.

What the hell pay ang lee. I was sure he mentioned intrest in doing another one. IMDB lits his current project a tv movie WTH. 14 years ago i remember seeing photos in magazines of filming and thinking how breath taking each shot was. Worried a new crew won't be able to capture the same visual feel.
