An English adaptation of Roald Dahl's 1973 book The Witches will be directed by Guillermo del Toro (Blade 2, Hellboy). Alfonso Cuaron has signed on to produce the Warner Bros. film.

Del Toro is writing the screenplay for The Witches himself and said he has written about 70 pages of what he expects to be a 100 page screenplay. He plans to be more faithful to the book than previous versions of the movie.

There is no date set for the beginning of production.

The surprise isn't that they're doing a remake. The surprise is that the fact that it's a remake isn't mentioned in the article.

There is no surprise stupid. The line "He plans to be more faithful to the book than previous versions of the movie" implies that it is a remake. Idiot.

Your grasp of the language can only be summed up in one work Johhhy.....Brilliant! Really top notch! You must have read a half a book a few years ago to get to your current pinnacle of wordsmithing. Fools, all of them! ANyway, I like Del Toro so it could be interesting even though I've never heard of this before. Fools!
