Zach Galifianakis should play a dwarf, make it so Del Toro.

These are the films that will finally legitimize him outside of the cult semi-hits he's had so far. I'm still crossing my fingers and wish PJ was doing the honors. But hopefully he'll be close by as producer to make sure it doesn't go off course

No way man, not if it means Galifianakis will be out of commission for a long time while he's running around Middle Earth.  The world needs more Galifianakis not less.

I wonder if the good people behind Lord of the G String will take this opportunity to create a prequel.

I'm sure that PJ is going to be all over this. I know DT can do it but I feel that PJ has made this whole Middle Earth thing his. He will be on top of every decision to make sure that they are the best representation of the franchise as a whole. I think PJ is just letting someone else do the Heavy Lifting this time. He still runs the show.

I think GDT is the perfect director for The Hobbit, and probably would have created an incredible LotR trilogy as well.  He's almost childlike in his fascination for the fantastic.  I'm probably more excited about this than I was the Rings and most of that has to do with it resting in GDT's capable hands.

I just finally want to see the hobbit movie. Glad It's finally making some headway

I have a question...whatever happened to Peter Jackson? After King Kong did he go hide under a rock? Only way i have heard his name is he was a good buddy of the guy that directed District 9. Did he die of embarrasment after King Kong?

Wiseguy 11/5/2009 8:09:46 AM

PJ has The Lovely Bones coming out this Christmas, so he's been a bit busy himself and I believe he's making a WW2 movie after that, forgot the title but do remember he's considering making it in 3D. I believe it's about bombers from "down under"

Oh and that TinTin stuff he's splitting with Spielberg

I don't like it that he wants to MAKE IT HIS OWN.  But whatever.  I did finally see Pan's las weekend and really enjoyed it.  Think all his creatures are starting to look the same in his movies though so hope he stays true to Jackson's for continuity.  Either way this is my most anticipated movie.

I know I've said this before, but I've never heard Jackson's reasons for not doing these himself.  I mean, LOTR's his baby.  Can anybody fill me in?
