Del Toro's WOLFMAN Haunts Another Year

A few weeks ago, our readers were excited about the news that Makeup Fx guru, Rick Baker(An American Werewolf in London), would be returning to the werewolf genre for the Benicio Del Toro starring remake of THE WOLFMAN. Still, a few readers questioned the remake's release date(including myself in our comment section) of November 12, 2008, a week after James Bond 22 opens and a week before Harry Potter 6 opens in theaters. Well, Universal has answered those questions from either production delays or just looking at the release schedule. The studio has pushed back the release date of the remake to Spring 2009.

Plot Concept: Based on the 1941 original that starred Lon Chaney Jr., the new film will be set in Victorian England. Del Toro will play a man who returns from America to his ancestral homeland, gets bitten by a werewolf and begins a hairy moonlight existence.

I wonder if Wolfman will go around saying "As your attorney, I advise you to take a hit from the little brown bottle from my saving kit. You won't need much just a little taste."

The las good Werewolf movie I remember watching was Brotherhood of the Wolf....I liked its take. I hope they do something a little new, like the Mummy movies did,,,,,gave us things we hadn't seen before regarding an iconic figure.

Right on hanso! Hey tinseltown, here's an idea, how 'bout releasing a scary/horror movie in the month of October. I didn't want to see Halloween in August nor do I want to see The Wolfman during Lent.

Damn. I was looking forward to this. Baker's effects and Del Toro's intense acting ability could make this one helluva a classic monster movie.

All I see is continuous discrimination. All these years later and there is no Wolfwoman. Time to burn some bras and give women some equal screen time.

How about Fredrika Krueger for a Nightmare on Elm Street or Jasmine Voorhees, Michelle Meyers.

Make Pinhead a female cenobite in the HELLRAISER remake, there have been female cenobites already.

I just dont want to see EVIL DEAD remade featuring Ashley ASH.

Sony,
Perhaps we can be civil...lets start over,
They did make a remake of "I was a teenage werewolf" using a girl as the lead.
I just got it from netflix. It's called "Blood and Chocolate"
Haven't watched it yet, so I don't know if it sucks, but I don't have high expectations.
