When JURASSIC PARK III comes to DVD, there won't be any extra film footage added that was cut prior to the film's release. The reason: There isn't any.

In contrast to typical overshoots these days, Johnston shot tightly on the film, and didn't really have anything extra that had to be cut.

Still, the eventual DVD will include storyboard and script material created before Johnston scrapped it all to start over again. One example is from 1999, which told the story of a group of teenagers who find themselves marooned on the island.

There will also be extensive special effects background materials and extras.

As for Joe Johnston, he doesn't sound all that thrilled with DVD extras. While talking to Video Premiere, the helmer gave his assessment of the medium, saying, "I mostly watch the movie and then fall asleep."
