Hilton Joining REPO Horror Musical - Jul 30, 2007 - 03:32pm
"Is it just me, or does Hilton's face look photoshoped onto that body? The girl is such a butterface."
Heh... Zing!
E3: Some Trailers Released - Jul 14, 2007 - 04:00am
There are a few others that I am interested in like Wiifit, Left 4 Dead, Fallout 3, Turok, UT3, De Blob and a few others...
Sony Slashes PS3 Price - Jul 09, 2007 - 05:08am
Hmm... With the Canadian dollar so close to the USD hopefully they match the price in both countries. Right now it is at $679.99 at one of the stores locally.
Sega Announces MARVEL Games - Jul 08, 2007 - 01:13am
I guess it is time for them to make higher quality DC Vs Capcom games instead.
Manhunt 2 - Jun 23, 2007 - 02:11pm
Delays are expected due to the game receiving an Adults Only rating.
Hack G.U. Vol. 2 Reminisce - Jun 12, 2007 - 08:53pm
I totally agree with you on the MMO front because it is far too tedious in general games like WoW. Spending a few days just getting a single level is difficult for me to do, and because of the reviewing job I do not have the time to do it even if I really wanted to.
And do not worry about not being reamed out. I am glad you read the review and responded. As a professional that is all I can do, even if your opinion is different than mine.
Forza Motorsport 2 - Jun 12, 2007 - 02:16pm
Limited Collectors Edition.
So someone has already created a Mona Lisa car on Forza 2? I heard about it on the first game. I have also seen a few other cars like one from Sin City, and one of Tony from Scarface, but I patiently await someone creating a Dolph Lundgren Punisher car.
Hack G.U. Vol. 2 Reminisce - Jun 12, 2007 - 06:03am
Yikes, someone posted just before me. Uh... I hope you both write reviews.
Hack G.U. Vol. 2 Reminisce - Jun 12, 2007 - 05:11am
Heh, the reason why it took so long is because I waited till I made it to the end of the game. First and foremost I will note that I love RPGs. They have remained my favourite genre since the old days of the NES. I absolutely also love the Dot Hack series because they do something different from the slew of other RPGs out there, which is also a reason why I enjoy the Disgaea series. I also have a separate sealed set of the .Hack games lying around the house, which I use to keep friends jealous. Just because I love the series though does not mean that they are fantastic games, it just means that I connect with them on a different level.
Going over a few of your notes... Indeed monster AI was improved, but how much better did that make the gameplay? Did it not become tiresome battling similar creatures over and over again? The battle system was a bit cumbersome, but more importantly it did not evolve over time changing the way you would battle the enemies. Of course series could be difficult to evolve (in any area) because it is part of a set, so the chances of them doing any drastic changes in the middle of a series is most likely not going to happen. After all the publishers do not want to alienate those returning to the second volume of the game.
Sure being able to change weapons in mid-combat was a much needed improvement, but it did not drastically change the landscape of the game. Weapons handled nearly identically to the last game so the enjoyment for the extra weapon was not there. Tossing a new weapon in there, even a totally bad-ass one, was a step forward but did not add any major depth. Adding a bunch of different weapon types would have refreshed the gameplay drastically. The same could be said about modifications to the speed of the bike, it was a good improvement but it did not evolve the enjoyment of the game drastically. Perhaps adding many different types of bikes would have saved it, but in the end it just felt like a generic way to move around the map.
One of the main factors that reduced the score was depth. Adding the tiny tweaks did not add much depth to the game, as you would expect in successive games. Most of the features added should have been in the first volume, and I am sure you can agree with that. Another factor that lowers the score is how I believe other people will enjoy the game, as in the average gamer. A B+ and anything above should mean that nearly everyone should buy the game, and I personally do not believe everyone should pick up this game. As much as I enjoyed it was I did not believe it warranted such a label for a game people are going to play only once. I also personally do not believe that the game is too big to warrant three different instalments for the series. That is why I felt it was important to compact it into one set, rather than three games.
Bringing attention to Final Fantasy, since you brought it up, they were able to bring forth drastically different worlds in one instalment. Final Fantasy also has plenty of obscure quests, and while tedious, they do add depth to the game for those that wish to complete them. I would have given Final Fantasy an A. I felt that it had plenty of features that people would enjoy even if they were not a fan of the genre. Putting .Hack GU up there, when I believe it was far from as good of a game as FF12, would be improper to do. So the review also took into account other games as well.
You did make a strong point about the review though, and I am glad that you did. It is good to challenge the reviewer to keep them on their toes. Hopefully I have been able to alter your view on the game slightly, just to add a bit of perspective. It is not just about how you love the game, but about how the average person will. I hope that you submit a reader review on the game as well.
Forza Motorsport 2 - Jun 11, 2007 - 02:13pm
Odd. I have crashed plenty of times, sometimes on the track and sometimes off of it. I have crashed into dividers, walls, and even plenty of vehicles. I have lost mirrors, bumpers, and pretty much Eddie Griffind the vehicles, but every time I circle the track the pieces were gone. This happened not only on the 2-3 mile courses, but also that giant 12 mile one. I have also observed this when watching other people play, and after hiring a driver and watching them play. Each time I circled the track they were gone along with my splendid paint finish.
I was using the LCE version for the review for those that are curious.
Celebrity Justice 101 - Jun 09, 2007 - 08:29am
Indeed, at the same time that I want her to serve her fair share, I do not want to see it on television. Seeing it on television does show that she is going through it though, which most people want to see.
I guess they could just focus on Akon throwing a person off of the stage and hurting a lady by doing so.
Overall though I hate how celebs take over the news. I do not believe they should get as much attention as they get, but people still eat it up.
Celebrity Justice 101 - Jun 09, 2007 - 02:08am
Well... Step one is complete for making up for the easy time she has had so far with breaking the rules. How many times did she get busted for driving without a license? I recommend more pain!
R2-D2 Trash Can - Jun 04, 2007 - 03:52am
Served! But... still a cool thing.
Angel Plans to Play Mandrake - Jun 04, 2007 - 01:50am
Damn, and here I thought they were talking about that guy from Bones.
One Last Time - Jun 01, 2007 - 02:13am
Indeed... My interest is also peeked. Do tell us what you have in store for you.
ON THE LOT: 18 Comedy Short Films - May 30, 2007 - 03:49am
I do believe it should be trimmed down to an hour. Every week it opens with who was cut, and they can show their next movie first.
ON THE LOT: 18 Comedy Short Films - May 30, 2007 - 12:36am
Danger Zone was probably my favourite too, but the main CGI that he used was a poorly rendered robot.
Insaniquarium - May 30, 2007 - 12:34am
I might not be allowed to do reviews about games like it in the future, because it does not fully fit into the 18-49 demographic the site is about.
For creatures though rather than use most of the different ones I stuck with the snail, the jellyfish, and the mermaid to try and collect the most money possible with the least amount of clicks. It was a coinstorm whenever she sang near the end of the game (when I let the guppies survive) and I only had time to click to feed the bastards. I guess I should stay away from buying the breeders.
Insaniquarium - May 29, 2007 - 02:53pm
Heh, I noticed that too so I considered adding a macro to provide multiple mouse clicks. What I ended up doing though is just letting those fish die, by not feeding them, and just moving up to the larger fish which required eating other fish ot survive.
What I liked about the game is that even though I am an adult I enjoyed it. I did not think I would... but I ended up loving it anyway.
Who’s the Next Hero? - May 27, 2007 - 01:06pm
Batman will be the only hero that matters...
TOMB RAIDER 3 Possible? - May 13, 2007 - 02:35pm
Heh... that posted picture is not flattering.
Paris and Paramount get the Dunce Award - May 13, 2007 - 02:09am
I see Paris Hilton a bit more like Freddy Krueger. The more people know of her, the more power she has. If we just try and ignore her hopefully she will just fade away.
HALO 2 Release Pushed - May 09, 2007 - 10:09pm
Heh yeah it is a little late. I figure it is just for some more PRs about Halo before Halo 3. It could be quite fun to play with the Xbox 360 controller though, but I could do that with my Xbox 360.
SPIDER-MAN 3 Actual Numbers - May 08, 2007 - 02:30am
I personally do not really care about it smashing new records. I do think that is juxtaposes the falling theatre attendance nicely though.
Spider-Mania - May 07, 2007 - 12:31am
Heh, I have all that done and more! Completed the game, got the black suit for regular play, and now just working on activities. I seriously hate the bomb missions... Seriously.
Spider-Mania - May 05, 2007 - 11:55am
I am also loving what I am playing so far. Luckily I watched the movie so I can how closely it follows that storyline.
SPIDER-MAN 3 - May 04, 2007 - 08:57pm
I would give the movie a B+ personally, since it did not make it up to the epic levels of the previous movies. I just thought it was a little weird to have the Punisher in there killing guys. My hat goes off to Sam on that one... I never saw that coming. What was probably a bit of a plot hole though was Doc Oc coming back from the grave and starting the Marvel Zombies saga. Oh well.
Anyways seriously... I think they tried to humanize each of the villains a bit too much.
de Bont Gives Cusack POWER - May 03, 2007 - 07:35am
John is an amazing actor... Perhaps he can even make this movie good.
"Dragon's Lair" - Apr 30, 2007 - 11:26pm
Heh, I guess either way there was a problem with the game. I sort of liked it correcting itself rather than the randomness.
"Dragon's Lair" - Apr 30, 2007 - 11:13am
That's weird because I remember it doing the same part over and over as a kid. But that would not even apply to this game, because the problem eventually corrected itself, where after every death I would still be on the same puzzle.
"Crank" sequel on the way - Apr 30, 2007 - 07:52am
But he died... Unless they go the "Just sleeping" route.
Disturbia wins but not by much - Apr 29, 2007 - 05:19pm
Diehard 1 07/15/88 $601,851 21 83.0 mil 55.7 mil 138.7 mil
Darn... the sure made a lot off of those 21 screens.
Spider-Man 1 05/03/02 3,615 114.8 mil 403.7 mil 418.0 mil 821.7 mil
No wonder it had an opening of 3,615! It was on 114.8 million screens. I guess everyone just downloaded it and watched it at home. >.> Though it did earn more in other parts of the world.
Just poking fun.
Head To Head To Head – In Game Advertising - Apr 24, 2007 - 07:49am
I would have liked it if they had Axe body spray in it, where you could spray someone and girls would flock to the revealing their location for everyone to kill them, while making them unable to move or fight back. Might be more interesting to spray another girl with it though...
Another idea about it would be to use it as an explosive, so if you ended up throwing it at them and shooting it well... boom.
Steve Niles guest blogs on Mania! - Apr 14, 2007 - 03:10pm
Well yes... They really are not zombies. They happen to just be normal people that go crazy because of the virus. I am curious of why they do not end up attacking the other people infected, but... when I start to think about that I try and distance myself because I make the movie a little less fun.
Steve Niles guest blogs on Mania! - Apr 14, 2007 - 02:50am
A guy who writes about Zombies has instant awesomeness points from me. BANG!
Halle Berry says no to "Justice League of America" - Apr 13, 2007 - 04:35pm
TKay42one was correct where I was talking about the origins of Catwoman from the comics. I just think that changing the ethnicity of a character totally changes it, because growing up they are going to go through different events because of racial discrimination. Because of that they are not going to be the same person as originally created, but even then there is a lot of grey space.
Of course comics and movies often have a lot of grey space, so while it is possible to have an African American Catwoman, I just do not believe it is right for the overall ambiance of the originally crafted idea.
I will still stand by the fact it was not about Selina Kyle because the character is listed as Pat on IMDB.
Halle Berry says no to "Justice League of America" - Apr 13, 2007 - 06:49am
Well the Catwoman movie is not as bad as everyone says, it simply did not live up to the epic level that everyone expected out of her. I personally do not even consider her to be the Catwoman from the Batman universe... and here is why.
Catwoman is... White. While Halle appears to be a light shade... she is not white. I mean no offence by saying that to anyone out there, I am just staying true to the roots of the character's history. Of course I have a personal few gripes about the reinventing of characters in certain comics where they have changed ethnicity but that could be used for someone writing the comic articles.
Secondly... and the most important reason... The character's name is Patience Phillips not Selina Kyle.
I am glad she is not in the JLU movie, if there is going to be one for sure, because if X-Men 3 was any indication she will try and take over the team, or get too much screen time. I figure that they should have down played her roll in the third one, but that is just my opinion.
Head To Head To Head – Gaming News Special - Apr 11, 2007 - 07:35pm
Thank you very much.
The way I see it, I just like the fact that you listened to it and gave me feedback. Mania is a giant community and to get better we need the input of people so that we know what style people like. With this podcast it is really all about the community because you are hearing some of us in our real voices. Eventually I would not even mind having a few people from Mania phone in so that we can even have others participating.
When it comes to my PS3 though, there is no major reason to purchase one yet at its price point. The PS2 still has plenty of games coming out, so I would recommend for the average person to just wait till that is done. The Wii though is worth buying right now because there are plenty of games to play.
Don't worry though, I am sure in the future you will get all of the systems when they drop in price.
Grant Morrison to write "Area 51" - Apr 04, 2007 - 04:51pm
Indeed there was two for the arcade, if I remember correctly, where two people could use guns and fire at the screen. Of course there was another one for the consoles, which was also pretty good.
Free Twin Peaks 2! - Apr 03, 2007 - 12:13pm
That main picture looks a bit like Brendan Fraser.
Licence To Thrill? - Apr 02, 2007 - 12:17pm
I am still a huge fan of the old King of the Monsters game. There was one in the arcade that had you walk through levels, rather than just battle against monsters.
Licence To Thrill? - Apr 02, 2007 - 03:00am
Nicholas Cage from Ghostrider. Of course the game ended up being fairly poor, and it was probably best for him to distance himself from it from an actors standpoint.
Why I recommend that they use these voices is because the perception of the movie or other theme is tied directly in with the actors, and it helps the grand scheme flow a bit more neatly. People are mainly buying into these titles because they want an expansion on the experience, and without having the voices it cheapens their experience. It would be a different story if this licensed game was released completely separately from the movie, offering a completely different experience.
Perhaps the main thing that they suffer from is a solid budget. They generally get a few of the basics down nicely but they need to expand from there, or else they fall into the pool of mediocrity.
New "Ocean's Thirteen" Trailer Online - Mar 31, 2007 - 01:22am
The first one was good... I believe everyone agrees on that. The second one was just a let down and a total disappointment. If it goes down hill from there... I think Hollywood will implode.
Sarah Michelle Gellar joins "The Dark Knight"? - Mar 30, 2007 - 12:48am
I used to really love her as Buffy, but after seeing her roles outside of the show (Excluding Cruel Intentions) I thought that she lacked something. Than again near the end of Buffy I was really watching it for her interactions with the Spike, or even just Willow and Xander. I hope that she does not come to Dark Knight in general though, since I do not believe that she would fit... Even in the role of Harlequin
Soylent Shivering Isles - Mar 27, 2007 - 06:07pm
Well I do list a few PC titles generally. In the past I was listing quite a few of them that were listed on EB Games' website but they seemed to be pushed back over and over again. I would normally see on their "Coming Soon" section some games coming next week for an entire month. So now I really only pick out the top titles, instead of the ones put out by no-name publishers.
The Black Box - Mar 27, 2007 - 09:16am
Yikes... Have you been reading my posts on other message boards? I was even going to do a similar editorial about this type of thing. I was going to call it... "Bridging the gap."
The gap continues to close between the PC and your TV, and the PC is attempting to be the one system to rule them all. The connectivity between the PC and television is at an all time high, with the prospects of displaying photos or playing games on a giant screen seeming to be much more enjoyable than watching an episode of Will and Grace. Of course another fun prospect is downloading television shows that you want to watch off of torrent sites for free rather than being forced to pay a price. But talking about downloads that charge... There are the mini-PC-esc systems currently hooked up to many of our televisions around the world, which are also known as the gaming consoles. But currently there are still a few things out of reach, making it impossible to copy the PC and so the consoles are left mimicking.
Hmm... Maybe I will continue with it later.
Corbin Bernsen dircting "Dead Air" - Mar 26, 2007 - 11:29pm
I am all for more zombie films... But so long as they come to my town. If not... They are worthless.
Top Ten GBA Games Of All Time - Mar 20, 2007 - 11:37pm
I almost wanted to include the Ogre Battle game... But it just did not feel right to. Ogre Battle: March of the Dark Queen for the SNES is one of my top games of all time.
Top Ten GBA Games Of All Time - Mar 20, 2007 - 09:37am
Sadly I have not yet had the chance to play that game, and since it is a licence game I generally stay away from those. I will see if I can find it at a Blockbuster or a Rogers place around here so that I can try it out.
I will probably be penning an article this week about what to look out in licence-based games.
Emma Watson done with "Harry Potter"? - Mar 19, 2007 - 10:33am
I actually heard that she no longer wants to act in general, and is dropping out so that she can focus on her schooling. It seems that she wants to become a doctor as well.
Other rumours have swirled about her wanting to leave because it is difficult for her to keep a relationship as an actress, since she is away from the person for the better part of a year.
A Short Introduction - Mar 19, 2007 - 09:44am
Welcome to the toy section, and I will be glad to work with you from across the hall.
Ahh, I remember going through the exact thing you were. Being part of a commercial chain of stores, and being on the bottom rung. I am glad to see that other people have been able to flourish in the roles, despite bosses that keep you there. I know that I had to spend the better part of three years in one position, where I was constantly the employee of the month but they never sought to promote me. Make the most of your position there though, use it to make a lot of friends.
Zombie film FIDO to open festival - Mar 19, 2007 - 02:13am
You know what is retarded? They filmed much of the movie in my town, yet they have decided not to air it here at the local theatre. They even filmed some of it down the road from my house...
Head To Head To Head - Winter Follow-up - Mar 15, 2007 - 02:23pm
I can see the next podcast now.
Gord: Okay guys, our readers are having troubles comparing each...
Cliff: You mean listeners Gord. This is a podcast and not a radio show. I mean an article.
Gord: Oh... Okay our viewers are having troubles telling us apart.
Matt: Except for me. I pretty much have a stuffed nose and sound really nasally.
Cliff: And again it is listeners, not viewers. Podcast! People only listen to podcasts.
Gord: Okay right. So our readers are still having problems.
Cliff: You know what? Fine. Yes, I guess our readers are having problems. What do YOU suggest we do about it?
Gord: Okay You know that British accent I fake at parties to get free drinks?
Cliff: And the girls Gord... Though they know you are faking it.
Gord: So... Well my drinks were for free anyways?
Cliff: Yeah well, they still know that you are faking it.
Gord: Fine! Okay, how about we have you do the accent.
Matt: What about me D00d?
Gord: Okay... Try and sound... Dignified. How about even a little pretty. We need to attract a male audience, and with my sexy voice we only have female viewers.
Cliff: What about they guy that gave comments on the podcast?
Gord: Right! He should count as two people since he has two personalities. Anyways he said something about you having the voice he liked.
Cliff: So I should keep my voice?
Gord: No... You complained. Now you get to sound like Remington Steel.
Matt: You mean like the razor?
Gord: Yeah, I think the guy from the razor commercials.
Cliff: (British) You do know it was a show right?
Gord: I am pretty sure it was a commercial. What do I look like anyways? Mania's television reviewer?
Head To Head To Head - Winter Follow-up - Mar 14, 2007 - 07:06pm
Blah, it is still next to impossible to find them in stores anywhere around here. I hope you enjoy the podcast though. Perhaps in the future we will include calls from Maniacs so that they can pose questions. For now though they can always just leave a message here.
Sony Playstation 3's "Home" - Mar 12, 2007 - 05:20am
I do not know how well this is going to go over. It seems a bit more complicated than finding out a person's gamer score. The avatars are a bit too realistic, and nowhere as cute as the Mii's on the Wii. Sony will also not force companies to put trophies into their games, which can be shown off in home. Plus it seems like I can get a service like this from Second Life, though there I will be able to create the environment.
I know they are trying to take the best of all of these worlds, but I do not see it going over too well. Props for them trying this, but I just do not think it can work out... At least until I hear more. I mean why go into a virtual chatroom with avatars if you are not playing videogames? Why not just go play WOW?
Either way a service like this is going to cost you money. With Second Life you need to pay for the land you wish to use, while with Sony you need to buy their system. I am still not exactly sure if they are going to charge you to create your own house or not. Will they make this a pay service? There are so many questions at this time, but hopefully as time continues, we will see a bit more on the subject.
Laugh at them, not with them! - Mar 10, 2007 - 04:05pm
Yeah... Paris sure is a butterface. Everything on her looks decent / good but her face.
Iron Man - Mar 08, 2007 - 04:55am
I believe that Batman could beat Ironman in a fight.
Gordian Recon - Mar 08, 2007 - 04:49am
Well a few on this list seem quite interesting, like GWAR 2, MotorStorm and Wario.
As for general Wii stuff though, I am getting a little tired of ports of regular games from the other systems, mainly the movie ones, which think by slapping on a fresh coat of paint (by changing the control scheme) that they can try and make full release money. After playing Rampage I totally wag my finger at that.
Avi Arad producing "Robosapien" - Mar 08, 2007 - 04:39am
I agree that the movie idea sounds stupid. Just the idea of the movie is stupid... But that could be said for a lot of movies that turn out pretty good.
Like the idea of a bunch of slow moving dead people attacking a house or shopping mall sounds stupid... But...
Captain America, dead. - Mar 08, 2007 - 04:36am
I get worried every time a Captain gets killed... Because I may just be next.
Avi Arad producing "Robosapien" - Mar 08, 2007 - 03:26am
Hmm... Well I wonder if this will be a story like Toy Story, or a story like Small Soldiers.
Jason Lee joins "Alvin and the Chipmunks" - Mar 08, 2007 - 03:20am
I think he is a good choice for the role. He cleans up quite well, out of his Earl suit. Check out the first season DVD of the show to find that out. So long as he comes neat and clean, he should do the role quite well.
"Rampage: Total Destruction" - Mar 07, 2007 - 11:28pm
Well the same is pretty much identical on the Gamecube, where there are still a few difficult controller issues, where if you cannot play the game because the controls are so bad. I think the main issue with this game is that they wanted to push it out on the Wii without giving it a good controller scheme. That is mainly why it failed. I could see giving this game a C, but I will say for sure that this game is totally budget.
Con Men II - Mar 07, 2007 - 11:20pm
Exactly! That was I was trying to point out. Everyone needs to be in the know about what you are doing, and when. This will allow them to follow suit if you break up and need to get back together. Try scheduling what you are going to do as well, so that you can hit up all of the sites, like the voice actors. Those guys were probably the best things about the Anime Evolution, since it was awesome to listen to the guys who did voices on Beasties and X-Men Evolution.
Dominic Monaghan joins "I Sell the Dead" - Mar 07, 2007 - 03:43pm
I am also a fan of Charlie. I have not watched this season of Lost, since it is the kind of show that is best to watch on DVD. I cannot wait till the end of the season when I can watch it all.
Captain America, dead. - Mar 07, 2007 - 03:37pm
Well... I was sort of him being dead, or in limbo battling against the Red Skull.
Con Men II - Mar 07, 2007 - 02:02pm
Heh, I have only been to one Anime Con over on the coast, and it was pretty fun. I signed up as press so I got a little bit more than an average person
The hardest thing was getting there, which was a few hours drive. It was not like I was going there exclusively for the show though. Of course the second hardest thing was getting into the hotel room. If you are driving though, and the only driver, make sure that the people going with you know that they are paying for all of the gas.
Another good article!
What the hell is this?! - Mar 03, 2007 - 04:23am
It might be a little mean to go and scalp them from another website.
What the hell is this?! - Mar 03, 2007 - 03:59am
Blah, I wonder if I will ever hear the end of the cheats to the Strawberry Shortcake game. Well... Just wait for a few more cheats to be put up. Mainly I only submit what publishers give me.
"Galtow" Contest - Feb 28, 2007 - 01:47pm
So good that I will enter four times.
Top Ten Xbox Games - Feb 27, 2007 - 11:22am
I thought it was pretty good as well. Throwing spikes was pretty fun... But probably the best feature was the multiplayer that was unlockable by entering a code. It allowed the second player to play as a monster, and fight the first player. It was a bit too short though... But it still had me buy the second game.
Top Ten Xbox Games - Feb 27, 2007 - 10:09am
Of course I have love for the game. I put it on the Playstation 2 top 15, so I figured I did not need to put it here. http://www.mania.com/52813.html
"Fuzion Frenzy 2" - Feb 26, 2007 - 09:20pm
There was one like it. Basically it was the same game different artistic style. This time it was a disk that you ran on.
How to Land Yourself a Great Broad - Feb 20, 2007 - 07:53am
Crap... I posted it twice. Now I will just say something to extend the previous comment.
I mean, some older people stash tissue in their pockets, or up their sleaves, but they still get rid of them at the end of the day. If they did not... They would be fairly grubby, and probably have a few other problems, ones that would keep them ladies away.

The guy that has all of these attributes probably would not stay with a single girl anyway. They would probably use them up like tissues.

"after actually having consoles to sell, of course" - They seem to have plenty in Canada. Sony also has a million consoles ready for their launch in Europe, and success there will help indicate their true position in the industry for the next generation systems. Sony still has plenty of bad PR on their system, so it will be interesting to see if they can push through it all.
As for the Playstation 2 selling plenty, that is mainly because of the reduced price of their readily available consoles, but also their games. Perhaps their silver console also is a factor, which could have had people trading in their previous consoles, for this limited edition model. Maybe another factor of these consoles being sold could involve parents being uneducated about which was the new system, or getting their children whatever they could, which was also the same case when the PS1 – PS2 jump. I am interested in seeing if the system will drop down to under $100.00 though, which could help out the PS3 in the long run.
We also must note price on the PS2 games, as even new games like Rogue Galaxy are coming out at the $40 mark up in Canada. This is why I recommended that they reduce the cost of their games -- which could give them an edge -- so long as the retailers followed suit. How long will these prices last? Till they stop producing them, but that is still a year or two away. Will it help the Playstation 3 sell consoles? Perhaps. Will people want to get a $500-$600 console that can play Playstation 2 games, or $130 for one that does the job.

As for what Sony should have done, just think what price that console would have had if they released it a year earlier. I certainly still believe that they should have used a grossly scaled back model, making it more competitive price-wise with all the other machines. If they released the systems at the same time, the edge still may have gone to X-Box 360, since even at this time last year you would have had troubles finding a 360. It still has the best online system, which seems to become even more important. It is an unfair comparison since there was no competition in the next gen racket, though the Playstation 2 was still giving them a run for their money.
I still do not believe that once you have FFXIII, MGS4, Halo 3, and Mass Effect that people will ditch the Wii for the new consoles. I believe that the Wii is about getting new gamers to join the ranks of Nintendo, rather than rely on those that are all ready in the hunt. Hardcore gamers generally generate smaller revenue than “soft-core” gamers, since games like Hexic and Bejewelled 2 (www.popcap.com ) have out sold games like Gears of War and Final Fantasy XII by millions, but the more important part is about generating the most revenue. This is the market that they hope to tap into, along with the hardcore gamer base, to be the best of both worlds.
As a side note... I love my DS. I also cannot wait to get some DS – Wii interactivity. I think just like Nadia (Whom posted just moments before me on the game related aspect) that the controller will not get old. Perhaps it is time for another Romance of the 3 systems articles, or one about the Wii.

Darn my commas. One day they will get in line with the rest of punctuation, rather than trying to freestyle it with every single sentence. Two types of people also try and freestyle it in real life are celebrities and rappers, and I just expect a lot more out of my commas. I wonder if there is a boarding school to teach my commas a lesson, so that they follow my grand scheme rather than trying to improvise to cover my butt.
But of course I realize the value of a comma so that nothing appears like it is running on for too long because that would look fairly awkward and would also take a mighty long breath to say without needing to take several to explain the actual sentence in its one hundred percent entirety of its existence.
As for the “all ready” verses “already”, I suppose that it is my class work -- of finding the origins of words -- that forced me to use the wrong form. I should really distance my work from my education, though subconsciously I remember that my college professor hits me with a ruler when I do not use the older style verses the new one, plus the fact they really hate contractions like, “I can’t stop using them.”
It seems that they used to have the same meaning, about five hundred years ago, but the world has changed a lot since then and now should I.

The way I view the rating system has to deal with what type of genre the movie or game is in. This movie is strictly about action, and a lot of it, while Pan has a totally different goal.
As for C’s, those are your average creations. They are nothing special, nor do they set themselves apart dynamically. They are watchable though, but do not expect to get a lot out of the experience.
"Is it just me, or does Hilton's face look photoshoped onto that body? The girl is such a butterface." Heh... Zing!
