Thespian Johnny Depp and Disney have some busy days ahead of them. Walt Disney's chairman Dick Cook touted the Mouse’s upcoming slate of pics during a Wednesday showcase event at the Kodak theater and three of those high profile projects all involve Johnny Depp in starring roles.
Depp has agreed to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean installment and play Tonto in a bigscreen adaptation of The Lone Ranger, both produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and written by the PotC screenwriters.
He will also star as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s version of Alice in Wonderland.
The original 3 Pirate films earned a combined $2.6 billion for Walt Disney and the announcement of this latest adventure came via Depp walking out on stage dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow (with the addition of a Lone Ranger mask).
Yeah, wtf? Is this going to be a comedy adventure flick? I guess they figure since Prince of Persia is coming out with a white guy playing a Persian, its okay for a white guy to play an Native American. Not for nothing, but Native Americans are probably the most shit on culture in American history. I feel damn sorry for them and my people were freakin slaves!
Okay, that being said, I`m all for Johnny Depp in another POTC. I just hope that it is more like the first one. I thought the other two were great but there was a little too off kilter humor. And they made Depp a little too campy in the third.
I can only imagine how twisted Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland will be. I`m looking forward to that. Love the dark stuff.

The first PotC was great. The other two were ass! I'll probably see a fourth anyway, but if it reeks of vaseline farts as bad as the other two it will be the end for me.
Is Burton's version of Alice a live action version? Either way, maybe we'll get a film that isn't completely kiddie-fied Disney fair. Doubtful, but possible. I get sort of tired of Disney getting ahold of somewhat darker material and turning it into happy go lucky crap. Ever heard the original version of the Little Mermaid? This is not a fun story, people.

Sparrow and Barbosa were the best in those Pirates movie and if they pick up where the last one left off (Sparrow & Barbosa going after the fountain of youth) it's gonna be all about them. Can't wait.
Burton Depp in Alice = I'm there. How long till they announce Boham Carter as the Queen or did they already do that?
