While fans continue to wait patiently for a teaser trailer to Tim Burton's adaptation of Dark Shadows, Warner Bros. Pictures and French website CineHeroes have premiered another photo of Johnny Depp in his Barnabas Collins makeup. Check it out below and sound off with your opinions. The thriller will also star Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley, Jonny Lee Miller, Bella Heathcote, Chloe Moretz and Gulliver McGrath. Director Tim Burton led the production from a screenplay by author Seth Grahame-Smith.

Plot Concept: In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet--or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy...until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. Matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) has called upon live-in psychiatrist, Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter), to help with her family troubles. Also residing in the manor is Elizabeth's ne'er-do-well brother, Roger Collins, (Jonny Lee Miller); her rebellious teenage daughter Carolyn Stoddard (Chloe Moretz); and Roger's precocious 10-year-old son, David Collins (Gulliver McGrath). The mystery extends beyond the family, to caretaker Willie Loomis, played by Jackie Earle Haley, and David's new nanny, Victoria Winters, played by Bella Heathcote.

Dark Shadows is scheduled to arrive in theaters May 11, 2012.

Edward Scissorhands got a haircut and a manicure.

I'm just not feeling this movie.

This show was popular when my parents where in there teens - and I'm 40 now.

I will wait for it to hit Netflix/Redbox

He kind of has a young Jonathan Frid thing going.  Very interested to see this, I remember the program on TV when I was very young, and I still have the original Barnabas Collins-Dark Shadows board game.

the original Dark Shadows ran from June 27, 1966 to April 2, 1971 I'm 47 and I remember watching this afternoons after school.  It was probably my intro to Vampires. I look forward to this but I worry about Burtons "adaptation" if it's like his adaptation of Planet of the Apes then this will land in the FAIL column.  I HOPE for the best because this was a project Johnny Depp was very eager to do. Also has Michelle Pfeiffer and Eva Green. so the cast is good.  I had such a crush on the original Angelique, Lara Parker.

I became a huge fan when SciFi ran Dark Shadows years ago, and i have to say that if this movie fails, it'll probably be because that makeup is just a bit too much.  That guy shows up at your door looking exactly like the centuries old picture hanging in the hall and you're not thinking how amazing the resemblance is; you're thinking undead and grabbing a stake.  It's hard to believe that even the alcoholic and inbred Collinses (see Laura Collins) would be fooled.

Yeah I have to agree with millean and aegrant just really not feeling this and a bit of Depp-fatigue isn't helping either. Plus opening a week after The Avengers may make this an afterthought since it's very possible many of us may be making second trips to see Earth's Mightiests

Anyway they have 5 months to convince me otherwise

He looks like a friggen emo teenager.  Seriously...isn't Barnabas suppose to not look like a vampire so that he blends in with the people around him?  This doesn't look like blending.  Getting really tired of the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp "look at me I'm a creepy freak" look.  It's like...have some imagination and come up with something new...WE'VE SEEN THIS BEFORE!

Amen Higgy, Amen.  Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are both FREAKS.

This was one franchise that had some possiblity with a relaunch.  Dark Shadows had a pretty well established mythos running a daily soap during the early late 60s / early 70s.  The NBC remake wth Ben Cross as Barnabas was great, and cut short in its prime.

I second, third, fourth, and fifthly agree to everything that's been posted. I'm having a case of TMD or too much depp.

And Higgy, I don't think it's as much as an emo teenager as he looks like a japanime emo teenager. I half expect him to bust out a robotech suit or something.

Depp's a fine actor and all, and he does good work, but I haven't jumped at anything he's done in the last five years, except for Rango, which was more for the cg and story. Otherwise, I'm all depped out.

What's that I see? Helena Bonham Carter in a Tim Burton movie? Who'duh thunk it?

Depp is a great actor and he should be playing another interesting character.
