Director Mick Garris has a new Stephen King project in line after wrapping
RIDING THE BULLET this month. Garris will adapt King's
DESPERATION for ABC Television as a three-hour movie, with filming scheduled to begin next spring. No stars have been cast in the TV movie yet but King has already written the script for the show.
DESPERATION is a small Nevada town that is inhabited by a dark force and that has killed or possessed the townsfolk, making them act in strange and bizarre ways. An outsider discovers what's going on and has no choice but to try and destroy the evil before he too becomes a victim.
Garris has a long history with King; he directed the ABC adaptations of King's
THE STAND,
STORM OF THE CENTURY and
THE SHINING.
