Det. Matthews Back in SAW IV?

There are spoilers in this article for those who don't want to know anything about SAW IV. Now that the warning is out of the way, it appears that Wahlberg's character may be making a cameo in this next film. If he does appear, actor Donnie Wahlberg will not be pleased about it. Apparently, he asked the creators to kill him off in SAW III. They had it shot but they edited it out of the final cut so once again, a cameo could be used for Wahlberg's character in SAW IV, says Rotten Tomatoes.

"Yeah, I got a scene in it," said Wahlberg. "They kept me alive. I told them I wanted to die in part three and they took out my death. I just lie there and nothing happens."

[Spoiler alert]

Even Jigsaw died in Saw III but he's back. The filmmakers are keeping a tight lip on the timeframe that allows such actors to return, but Wahlberg was so annoyed that he spilled that officer Matthews still exists in present tense.

"No, they kept me alive. I don't want to talk about it."

WTF?? That's awesome... I wish he'd come back for the 4th installment. I actually thought he died because Jigsaw had to "finish" Amanda's job.

Hmmm. Is Wahlberg under contract, so he has to come back? If not, why doesn't he just refuse to do it?

I loved Detective Matthews. I wanted him to be the one to catch Jigsaw...if this were a hero wins kind of tale. I was hoping to have more closure on his character. Not that closure is needed, but it would be cool. I'm one of those people who think the saw series keeps getting better, can't wait for a fourth as long as they continue to keep the stories interesting and different.

In my opnion, the writers for Saw seem to have a knack of surprising and keeping people guessing,,,,,,I think its cool,,,,,,but, don't go too far!!!
