Details may have emerged online detailing a scene from a possible new teaser trailer of JJ Abrams' 1-18-08 (aka Cloverfield aka Monstrous). The only confirmed details we've seen so far is what we saw in the initial trailer earlier in the summer as well as confirmed quotes from director Abrams on his fascination with "monster" movies from a recent trip to Japan. He has expressed his desire that we have our own monster movie in the same context which Japanese Cinema has GODZILLA.

Here's some of what AICN is reporting will be appearing in the new teaser trailer for the upcoming monster movie...

The new scene opens with several traumatized survivors, moving through a very dark corridor there's slight cold blue illumination from halogen emergency lighting, a girl in the group is badly beaten up she's bleeding and looks very sickly. The main group is comprised of 3 characters, Rob from the main trailer, the cameraman and a girl, though there may be others....US Army soldiers storm in shouting at them, demanding they drop they're weapons, they shout back they're unarmed, there's a lot of commotion, then they're herded briskly up some E.T style scientific tubing into a makeshift aid center, its very dark, threes lots of doctors tending to wounded and military walking about making the scene very busy. "What is that thing?" they ask as they catch their breath, the cryptic answer comes from a soldier "We don't know, but it's winning"

Also being suggested in the report is that the film will not only feature one very large monster but also parasitic creatures that affix themselves to their host's scales. To see more of the report, click here.

Big thanks to Mania scooper, Mr. Jawbreaking Equilibrium, for passing this bit along..

This is just another giant monster movie, except with hand held video cameras. If this movie was worth it, they wouldn't need to hype this connect the dots film!!!

metalwater....If you actually connect the dots it says something like this, Good Marketing...
most movies would kill to have this kind of campaign to advertise there movie and get the response that this one has gotten...it does not matter if the movie is going to be crap or good the marketing has been top notch and has developed more buzz than most movies out there...I also take what you say with a grain of salt so it does not matter...I guess you don't good advertising when you see it but that's on you not me,lol....

Dude...you are a drone if you don't have an opinion beyond: "Oh...I love whatever I am being force fed all the time", and that is exactly what you are doing. Stop being a "Yes Man" for once, and learn to use your mind beyond constantly kissing ass...you brown nosing Stepford Wife!!!

I agree with you MiaForce...this is good marketing, but...from what I've seen from the descriptions of this movie, it's nothing more than the Godzilla movie that Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich did...save for the use of hand-held consumer level video cameras. That's what I mean by connect the dots.

With this much hype, you'd think they'd give us something revolutionary in terms of story, not the same old re-hash of other movies!!!

Should I be getting excited about this movie? Because right now I am not. Even this ad campaign isn't really getting me interested. I can just imagine the scary movie trailer voice over, IN A WORLD WHERE....BLAH BLAH BLAH. The hand held camera doesn't pull me in, the mystery doesn't interest me, for all I care this movie could be Invasion.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

Nope. :) I love all giant monster movies, so I'm VERY MUCH looking forward to anything and everything about this movie. Even that terrible looking Dragon Wars has my interest peaked!

Love big monsters,
Hate camera idea.
Dragon wars does have my ineterest, but yes it looks a little weak.

I think the camera idea and the focus on the everyday people provides a more unique spin to the "typical" monster movie.

As long as Abrams doesn't include a scene of using a mammalian pregnancy test on a giant freakin' lizard!

I know I'll go to see this when it hits the theaters, but between this movie, STar Trek and all of the Lost crap, I'm really getting tired of all of the conjecture and "leaked" information concerning J.J.'s movies. I understand their marketing concepts, but I'm tiring of them quickly.
