DGA and AMPTP Begin Contract Negotiations

As the scrawny guy says after the burly guy takes away the jar of mayonnaise and opens it -

As long as the DGA backs the WGA's play, these negotiations should be over quickly.

This writer strike bull shit is starting to get as confusng as figuring out how many heavy weight boxing belts are actually out there. What does this all mean now? Is the writers strike basically coming to an end? That would be a good thing, we can get the Battlestar Galactica remaining episodes filmed. My biggest fear of that show is that the ratings wouldn't be high enough and they would just scrap the final 8 or how ever many episodes remain to be shot. Leaving us hanging. Wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened.

This has nothing to do with the writers right now. The D in DGA stands for "Directors", not writers.

The only reason why the AMPTP is talking to the DGA is because they know they can screw them over. The DGA is a group of idiots and will most likely take a shity deal. Then the AMPTP can come out and bash the writers for not talking the same shit deal.
