DGA director nominations announced

YAHOO! Entertainment News relays a VARIETY story in which attention is given to the Directors Guild of America awards. Previously, a lifetime achievement award had been announced for Martin Scorsese. The ceremony will take place on March 1.
By comparison, the Oscars are set for February 11. The DGA will announce nominees in stages on the way to their ceremony.
Nominations announced today included Peter Jackson for THE TWO TOWERS, Rob Marshall for CHICAGO, Roman Polanski for THE PIANIST, Stephen Daldry for THE HOURS, and Scorsese for GANGS OF NEW YORK.
