Love doesn’t conquer all as Safe Haven couldn’t compete with the fifth installment of the Die Hard franchise. Safe Haven also fell to Identity Thief proving people would rather laugh or catch an action flick then see a romantic sap fest. My question to you Maniacs is, did anyone see the trailer for Safe Haven? Each time I saw it, I felt as if I saw the entire movie. A Good Day to Die Hard was fun, but nothing Earth shattering. It was, in short, a Die Hard movie.

This week we really only have two choices. We can venture off to see Dwayne Johnson in Snitch. Dark Skies, however, looks to be a tad more entertaining. Besides, with G.I.Joe Retaliation coming out, one “Rock” movie is more than enough.
oh well it's just the first weekend and has not open world wide just yet. die hard will make some money but not what it used to. and it was an o.k die hard movie. guess it had to die some time right??
I saw Die Hard, solid action movie, glad it broke the flop express with Sly and Arnie. Still a ways to go for 90 mil. They could have saved some money on this with less car chase scences which bore me. The only interest for me in car chase scenes are coming up in Fast n furious.
Also saw Die Hard. I have to agree that it was fun but not nearly as fantastic as I hoped. I thought the plot idea was good. Jai Courntey who played the son was good but I thought Willis came across tired and not full of the usual joking Never-Say-Die-Monkey-With-A-Wrench attitude he usually has. I can't ascribe it to age. I'd watched the previous Live Free Or Die Hard on TV just the day before and he was like that.
I would put it down to execution. I don't think the director got the right performances or tweaked the script to my liking. Still it was fun and I am glad an actioner has made some money.
Robert, don't forget we've got Dwayne Johnson also coming out in Fast & Furious 6 and Pain and Gain alongside Mark Walhberg in the smaller budget Michael Bay movie as well. I smell The Rock cooking all year long.
Die Hard sucked. peroid. The guy playing his kid was TERRIBLE. "Damn you John! Damn you!" absolutely laughable. The franchise is consistent though, Ill give it that. It's one of the few movie series that can be ranked from best to worst in the exact order they came out in. What really amazes is just how far the scale slides from the original, one of the all time great action flicks, to the newest, an utterly boring crap fest. The worst part is that we will most likely get one more, as trilogies now contain 6 movies instead of three.
Samurai sorry, my opinion-meter does not jive with yours. To me the 2nd one might be my lowest in that it felt like your standard "Repeat everything that happened in the first as close as possible" type sequels. I think the third with Jackson & Irons was a much higher quality film IMHO. And at first Live Free was OK but after more viewings I really enjoy it. This was my only viewing of the latest and I imagine after seeing it on cable a few times it might change.
Your mileage may vary. Void where prohibited. Do not leave unattended.
90 million worth of explosions. They should just get Micheal Bay for the next one, friggin unoriginal bastards. Even the crappy eighties movies were better than todays specials. Atleast his ex wife (holly) hasn't been in any of the recent movies. Got out while the gettin was good!
