While the first pairing (Gangs of New York) of the two didn't produce any awards, the last teamwork did give Martin Scorsese that long awaited statue for The Departed. This time around, they're joining together to adapt a Dennis Lehane thriller called SHUTTER ISLAND. Paramount Pictures and Columbia will be co-producing the film, Paramount handling domestic sales while Columbia oversees international.
Plot Concept: Drama is set in 1954, with DiCaprio in final talks to play U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels, who is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island.
