DiCaprio: Scorsese's Oscar lack "cruel"

Actor pulling for director on Tuesday

YAHOO! Entertainment News reports that Leonardo DiCaprio is hoping that director Martin Scorsese will see at least a nomination for GANGS OF NEW YORK on Tuesday when the final contenders for the Academy Awards are announced.

The actor says, "It's almost a cruel practical joke at this point that Scorsese hasn't won an Oscar. I'll go on the line and say that because I think it's the truth, for everything that he's given to our industry and to American cinema and how many people he's influenced."
