Live Free or Die Hard maintained its top spot on the national sales and rental charts for the week ending Dec. 2. The fourth installment pulled in another $10.26 million in rental revenue in its second week in the market.

Paramount/DreamWorks' Shrek the Third held on to the No. 2 spot on the sales chart and managed to beat last week's No. 2 rental, New Line's Hairspray, to take the second spot on the rental chart as well.

Topping the new releases was Fox's Waitress, which debuted at No. 3 on the rental chart with $6.81 million and at No. 9 on the sales chart. Another new release, Universal's Mr. Bean's Holiday, finished at No. 9 on the rental chart and at No. 13 on the sales chart.

On the high-definition disc charts, "Die Hard" came out on top for Blu-ray Disc, and "Planet Earth: The Complete Collection," from Warner Home Video, made a return to the top of the HD DVD chart. "Die Hard" is available only on Blu-ray.

It won't be up top for long. Just till the numbers for Superbad's sales come out! :-P

Still, two weeks at the top of both Rental and sales, not bad!

It's a damn good movie. Not as great as Die Hard 1 or 2...but very good nonetheless. Now please give us a Unbreakable sequel where Willis and Mr. Glass square off in full super hero/super villain mode in the real world environment M. Night created.
