Diesel Directing 20 Minute FAST Prequel

It seems that Vin Diesel is stepping behind the camera for a short little prequel project connected to his Fast and Furious franchise, reports CS. All of the leading stars are returning to the fourth installment, which is more of a direct sequel to the original film's story, this 20 minute prequel will help tie in the storylines of the sequel and the third installment. Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Sung Kang are the ones currently attached to this project.

While we don't know which medium the set up will be released on, this is likely designed as the same setup that producers made for last year's Transformers, ala a mini prequel attached on the DVD.

The fourth film, directed by Justin Lin, stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, John Ortiz, Laz Alonso, Gal Gadot, Shea Whigham, Tego Calderon and Liza Lapira.

Plot Summary: Vin Diesel and Paul Walker reteam for the ultimate chapter of the franchise built on speed -- "Fast and Furious." Heading back to the streets where it all began, they rejoin Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster to blast muscle, tuner and exotic cars across Los Angeles and floor through the Mexican desert in the new high-octane action-thriller.

When a crime brings them back to L.A., fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto (Diesel) reignites his feud with agent Brian O'Conner (Walker). But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to outmanuever him. And from convoy heists to precision tunnel crawls across international lines, two men will find the best way to get revenge: push the limits of what's possible behind the wheel.

Fast and Furious will hit theaters June 5, 2009.

I still think they should have had the dude from the last movie show up somewhere in this one, Lucas Black.

20 min movie prequel? Is it web based? I don't see why it's just not in the regular movie. It's not "Lost" or anything that story driven so to speak.

Yooooooo I cant wait for this movie. It goes backs to its roots. The first Fast and Furious was the best one of all three. But I have to say I still enjoyed part 2 and 3. I agree with ponyboy I think Lucas Black should come back for the forth one. He was a cool character. But no one beats Vin Diesel character. I will be going to the theater for this one.

One more thing I just caught on it says agent Brian O'Conner? Does that mean he gets his Job back as a undercover cop?

Nice. I really dug the first and third movie. The second one kind of sucked. I am glad to see the cast coming back to do this. Justin Lin did a great job with Tokyo Drift, so I can't wait to see what he does with just straight up speed.

The worst thing about The original Fast & Furious is the really cheesy one-liners that alot of the characters had especially Vin. That was gladly missing in Tokyo Drift so Justin Lin should do a great job.

Lucas Black should reteam with Gary Cole and Shaun Cassidy and return to Trinity NC with a sequel to American Gothic.

I’m with Dazzler; does this franchise really need a 20 minute prequel to tie things together? Really? The Fast & The Furious?

Speaky of cheasy/homoerotic, if you haven't watched the deleted scenes from the first movie, I HIGHLY recommend it. One of them is nothing but shirtless dudes, sitting around and drinking. I recommend just watching the scene with director's commentary because it adds to the hilarity.

Nice. 20 min prequel = the Lucas Black/Vin Diesel race at the end of Tokyo Drift!! Race ends and he's off to LA.

You know how I know FrozenFear is gay? He recommends watching scenes of shirtless dudes.

LOL hanso! You just derailed my whole comment. No idea what I was going to say. Not that it matters. Does anybody really care about this movie or the 20-minute prequel?
