Diesel discusses RIDDICK foes

Speaking with Sci-Fi Wire, actor Vin Diesel revealed some news about some of the new aliens we'll see in THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK, the sequel to PITCH BLACK.

"[I've been] creating creature characteristics and attributes you won't see until scene two or scene three and researching on the Internet to explain negative matter: where these villains come from, these Necromongers," Diesel told Sci-Fire Wire. "[We have to explain] their scientific existence." Necromongers made from negative matter? That's something new that we haven't heard before.

Director David Twohy has previously gone on-record saying that he has a grand idea for a sequel trilogy to PITCH BLACK, describing it as an "evil STAR WARS". Exactly what that means is still a mystery but Diesel is also voicing his agreement that the new movies will broaden the scope and vision of the previous film. "We're going to create this huge universe," the actor adds. "And I'm excited about exploring this character's purpose in this universe and what his whole deal is."
