Lead star Vin Diesel has been the primary source of information in regards to his efforts to bring a third Riddick adventure into theaters. While working alongside his series co-producer/director David Twohy, Diesel has kept his fans up to date in the development of the project via his official Facebook page and now he's taken a rare public stance by asking the fans sound off whether they want to see him take on the character once again.

"[David Twohy] the writer/director just landed in New York with the good news. We can start filming this summer. However, there is a catch...in order for us to make a true R-rated film, I must work for scale upfront. Not unlike the Find me Guilty experience (which I wouldn't have changed for the world). Money is always second to art, integrity and spirit...but the real issue is deeper. Can I suspend my life, to momentarily venture to that dark place...called Riddick. Now, I need to hear from Our collective...you.

P.s. I am off to another meeting with David, the director of Riddick... to see concept art and discuss the potential schedule."

There you have it, Maniacs. If you wish Diesel to work around a pay cut and get to work this summer, you can tell the actor-producer on his Facebook page.

But scale up front for someone that's hot right now like Vin, thanks to Fast Five, probably means a percentage of the profit or points I think they call it later. Could actually end up being a bigger payoff after all is said and done. Just do it Vin, you've been doing mostly garbage why not go back to the character that put you on the map in the first place.

As for the R rating thing, as long as it's integral to the film cool. Just don't go out of the way to appease gore hounds.

as if the world is waiting their breath for another Riddick movie...NOT!!!!

He's a co-producer on the movie.  Who cares if he works for scale up front.  His back end monies will be astronomical.  Do it Diesel!

If he can hold on to the fire under his name that FF5 has started without loosing it again like he did with a string of bad movies he will bank even with just points on the back, We all know he's going to do it. So get on with it sir....

Well jedi, here is one person holding his breath for another Riddick movie.  I would much rather see another Riddick than watch the star wars prequels again.

He is going to make over 20 mil for fast six so a pay cut for doing a movie he clearly loves is a no brainer.

Ya i loved Chronicles of Riddick. I thought it was fun and bad ass! I've been waiting for a sequel damnit!!

 I loved both Riddick flicks.

I have been waiting since the day i left the theatres from Chronicles to see the next one so count me as one of those.

Yeah im in for another Riddick film- I honestly think everyone involved is playing politics on this one but I hope Disel is able to get Riddick done.

Ehh, not a movie I've been asking for. I would still see it though, maybe at the dollar theatre.

Chronicals was OK but I have not been waiting for a sequel to it. Pitch Black was much better. Now if they could get Riddick back on that planet I would be up for a new movie.
