Hot Shot Scientists

We have two new S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents joining Joss Whedon’s Avengers spin off. Elizabeth Henstridge  (Shelter) and Iain De Caestecker (The Fades). The two will play science whiz Agent Gemma Simmons and Agent Leo Fitz a technology guru.
The Hollywood Reporter says “The duo spend all their time together — mostly bickering — and are masters at a remarkably young age of their respective fields”.
Here is what is known about the characters: These two came through training together and still choose to spend most of their time in each other’s company. Their sibling-like relationship is reinforced by their shared nerd tendencies – she deals with biology and chemistry, he’s a whiz at the technical side of weaponry.
The series pilot is being penned by Joss Whedon and has no release date yet.

Thanks to Chopsaki for the submission.

Will this be a Fall 2013 Series?

OR will they show the pilot and then launch in the fall?

Meh... whatever. Until they cast Summer Glau or Jewel Staite, I won't be that excited about the casting for this show.

Jewel Staite could just sit in a chair looking pretty and I'd watch that!

It's unlikely that SHIELD will make it onto the Fall 2013 schedule, but you never know.  If the show does get put on the schedule that quickly, it would be highly unusual.  That said, I still wouldn't be surprised if it happened.  It would be best to move on the program as quickly as possible.

I am starting to get a vibe that it's a cop show generic execpt with Marvel tag.  Another boring CSI type ripoff show maybe.

I expect something along the lines of Torchwood, but with more competence and less sex.
