Short story... stretched out... not a good idea.

The Running Man was written under the Richard Bachman pen-name. It was a novela length story that did not resemble the movie in any way, shape, or form. The only thing from the story that ended up on film was the title, the rest of the story was fabricated "Ahnold" crap. I like Richard Dawson in the film, he's funny as hell, but it is not Stephen King's version of "The Running Man". Also, cool King movie adaptations: Carrie, The Dead Zone, The Shining, Misery, The Shawshank Redemption (another Novela), Stand By Me, Hearts in Atlantis (really underrated), Salem's Lot (The Original with David Soul), and hands down for the excellent job on The Stand. What I would like to see made faithfully. Faithfully being the key word here. * The Dark Tower in seven films to really give it justice, I will no longer accept statements like, "It's unfilmable" that's B.S. given recent films. * The Talisman (I hear is in development hell now) * The Regulators (Just a totally messed up story)

...a made-for-TV version... not what I had in mind for The Regulators... it will be far too tame.
