Dina Meyer Talks Birds of Prey

    October 25, 2002

Birds ofPrey's Dina Meyer was interviewed by Steppin' Out Magazine recently; shetalked about her internet habits, who she'd like to see cast as Jim Gordon, andwhere she gets her sex appeal. Check out GothamClock Tower for the full article or read the highlights below.

Meyer revealsshe's very in touch with public opinion; well, of the message board varietyanyway.

"Yes! I'm an Internet junkie. I don't know if the fans know it, but I'm rightin the middle of it. I read everything, every single day."

She alsomentions her choice for her Uncle (or Father?) Commissioner Gordon.

"If it was up to me, I would bring Adam West in as my dad. But who knowswhat's going to happen? We don't even know who Commissioner Gordon is going tobe yet. You just have to give the show a chance and see what happens. Hear thateveryone?! Keep all your nasty comments online in check until you at least seethe first show! Keep in mind one of the lead actresses in the series is readingthose comments every single day!"

Althoughadmitting she's never been into comics, Meyer says she's done herhomework.

"It's really not that complicated. I've never been a comic book fan, but nowI'm really starting to get into the story line. I'm trying to stay true to theoriginal Oracle in the comics. At least as true as I can without contradictinganything I have to do in the script."

"I think my character is a little softer on television than the comic bookversion."

One interestingcomment Meyer made has to do with Barbara Gordon possibly regaining the use ofher legs. This is especially noteworthy considering co-star Shemar Moore saidmuch the same thing in an internet chat back in early October. When askeddirectly why the producers don't give Gordon the use of her legs back, shereplied:

"They just might, rabbit, they just might. There are endless possibilities."
