A director is ENCHANTED by Disney

Helmer behind BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE finds new work

Instead of making the Steve Martin-led remake of TOPPER or a live-action version of THE JETSONS his next project, director Adam Shankman has agreed to direct the Disney fantasy-romance film ENCHANTED. The film is unusual from most features in that it uses both animation and live-action to tell it's story of a peasant girl from a magical land who falls in love with the kingdom's price, and because of this is banished to our world (specifically New York City.) The movie would start out as animation and once the girl arrives at the Big Apple, switch over to live-action.

Eventually the peasant girl finds her true love in the city but things get complicated when her prince charming from the enchanted kingdom comes to New York searachingn for her. He is soon followed by the evil queen who banished the girl in the first place.

The casting search is on for the right actress to play the enchanted peasant girl.
