Superheroes would be nothing without a supervillains to oppose them and while it’s a largely male-dominated fraternity, we have more and more supervillains who are females in comic books these days. They’re not only bad, but they look good doing it! So with that in mind, Mania presents our list for the twelve hottest supervillains!

12. Viper

First Appearance: Captain America #110. One of the oldest female villains in the Marvel Universe, Viper has been taking a bit out of the likes of Captain America and Wolverine for over forty years.

11. Angela

First Appearance: Spawn # 9. This angelic beauty has been trying to destroy Spawn ever since they first met. We can only hope Angels like this await us in the afterlife!

10. Gamora

First Appearance Strange Tales # 180. The former love of both Warlock and Nova is the adopted daughter of Thanos who trained her as an assassin. This emerald knockout is one great reason to “go green!”

9. Purgatori

First Appearance: Evil Ernie Revenge #1. When it comes right down to it, we could probably include just about every female foe of Lady Death on this list but we narrowed it down to Purgatori. This sexy demon/Vamp gives new meaning to the words “red hot”.

8. The Enchantress

First Appearance: Journey into Mystery # 103. For over forty-five years this magical vixen has been trying to seduce Thor by any means possible.   I don’t know about Thor but she can put a hex on me us anytime! “She’ll put a spell on you, because you’re mine…”

7. Mystique

First Appearance: Ms. Marvel #16. Blue skin, red hair, yellow eyes? Hey, that’s sexy enough but when you consider she can shape-shift into anyone, that makes Mystique the ultimate fantasy girl.

6. Elektra

First Appearance: Daredevil # 168. She’s Daredevil’s former love and one of his greatest foes, not too mention one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Born on a Greek island, Elektra is like an Olympian Goddess on Earth!

5. Bomb Queen

First Appearance: Bomb Queen #1. What makes this Image Comics star so deadly is that while your eyes are popping out of your head staring at her barely-there costume, she’s busy kicking your ass all up and down the street!

4. Catwoman

First Appearance: Batman #1. She’s the oldest villain on the list but even after nearly seventy years, this little kitty still makes us want to be her personal scratching post. Whether its her skin tight black leather or…skin tight purple spandex, Catwoman looks hot in anything!

3. Selene

First Appearance: New Mutants #9. Over 17,000 years old, Selene, Black Queen of the Hellfire Club, is the oldest Mutant and apparently has a leather and bondage fetish to boot. Do you think she was making the cavemen bark like a dog?

2. Poison Ivy

First Appearance: Batman #181Jeez does Batman have it made or what? Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Talia al Ghul, and Posion Ivy…with enemies like that, who needs friends? This babe is definitely worth a bath in Calamine Lotion.

1. Lady Death

First Appearance: Evil Ernie #1. Is she a hero or a villain? Does anyone really care? Did anyone EVER actually read Lady Death for the stories anyway? This pale-skinned hottie is the godmother of the 1990s “bad girl” art movement and our pick for hottest comic book villain!

Don't any of these women own any clothes?  And is it possible to look sexy without wearing a costume that makes it look like you should be dancing around a pole?

Sheesh.

goldeneyez 11/23/2009 4:32:02 AM

Aparently not (I'm being sarcastic just in case there was any doubt) & get ready for the sophmoric folk to chime in.  Sex sells though & given the target demographic of who comic companies are going for what do you expect?

Ozymandas 11/23/2009 7:48:19 AM

Missing Dark Phoenix, Black Cat & Hela, for starters. A lot of Indies & B-listers on te list, too (yeah, I know that Hela rates B-list, herself). How about the White Queen? Sure beats Selene.

Also, the artwork that was chosen really doesn't represent. There is much better, sexier-looking Enchantress, Poison Ivy & Elektra stuff out there, for sure.

Black Cat and White Queen were left off as they are not really villains anymore...Ya i know there is some ambiguity when it comes to Elektra and Gamora as well.  but I also wanted to avoid duplication as much as possiblewith one of my earlier articles on sexiest costumes where both those characters made the list.

Hela?  Hela?  I could come up with about fifty names before I'd reach Hela...

Can't really argue except to repeat what TJ mentioned, some of these are on the side of good or at least straddling the line. Straddling? the images I'm getting

Much as I hate to admit it, and I'll probably have my Guy Card revoked for saying this, but I agree with Kara.  As much as I can admire the artwork, I think costumes like the Bomb Queen's (really?... "Bomb Queen"??!?) and Purgatori (??) are a bit absurd.  Skimpy is fine to a degree, and I understand that the demographics of the artists and the audience tend to dictate the styles, but I think they get carried away.  Ah well...

Wiseguy 11/23/2009 9:12:55 AM

Nah man, there's a tactical advantage to wearing almost nothing and/or skin tight suits. You don't want to get hung up on something while making your getaway or give your enemies something to grab (I mean clothing by that) when fighting. See, it makes perfect sense, nothing absurd about it, "tactical advantage".

Let me add distraction to male enemies as part of the tactical adavantage

Cue feminist ....3...2...1....NOW

Time to rail against skimpy outfits and huge tits (yeah I said it)

It's fantasy, in a male dominated genre what do you expect. AND No feminist EVER, NEVER, EVER Rails against the completely unrealistic and rediculous bodies of men in comics, or thier revealing outfits...

Been hearing (some) women bitch about this in comics forEVER! It's a tired argument... and im sick of hearing it.

P.S. these drawings are hot...uh for drawings...

ddiaz28 11/23/2009 10:49:54 AM

I'm not going to rail agains huge tits but do they all have to have DD breasts?  It's like comic book artists are all wannabe plastic surgeons.  I know it's a matter of preference but a woman doesn't need ginormous watermelon boobs to look sexy.  Not even one drawn on paper.  And if these women are so good at fighting and being super villains, wouldn't those things get in the way?  Could you imagine trying to fight with those puppies bouncing around all over the place.  Those costumes must have some really great hidden support systems.

Ozymandas 11/23/2009 10:55:20 AM

The Black Cat was robbing Dexter Bennett's apartment in her last, most recent appearance, just a couple of months ago, so I'd say she's a baddie. Elaktra's always been an assassin. And Gamora's been on the side of the angels ever since she hooked up with Adam Warlock & crew, no?

Just for kicks, here are some images I googled of your choices:
