Mania Verdict: MAYBE—If it’s too good to be true, it likely isn’t true as the saying goes. Bypassing the anonymous source’s credibility, it’s hard to imagine the Callahan character still being “on the job” at Eastwood’s age. But who’s to say that the Callahan character isn’t retired and taking on this case anyway? We’re leaning towards false here but we can see Eastwood wanting to say a final memorable goodbye to his Dirty Harry character.

Free Masons Mixed into the Transformers 2 plot?
Rumor: Scouts for the upcoming Paramount production are interested in shooting the sequel to Bay’s smash hit in Detroit and Philadelphia. Rumors of a free mason sub plot popped up after a visit to the city of brotherly love.
Source: Various
Mania Verdict: MAYBE---The Philly papers are saying that scouts were especially interested in the Masonic Temple across from their City Hall, the focus being their Egyptian room. Given the original film’s sub-plot about the founders of Sector 7, it’s plausible. Or, the filmmakers just liked the Masonic Temple as a possible set location and the Free Masons have absolutely no involvement in the story. We’ll see on June 26, 2009.

"At this stage you always have discussions about what's in the film and what's not going to be in the film. Everyone's very passionate, and Edward is very opinionated." Said another source, "There is a very healthy exchange of ideas going on. Discussions now are even more heated. But some of Ed's best movies have had this exact dynamic to them. Everyone's in the process of figuring it out and working it out. But I expect it'll all get resolved pretty quickly."
