Discotek Media To Do Anime
August 29, 2005
According to some information received by the folks at Discotek Media, they're plans are getting firmed up for bringing over a number of live action Japanese movies as well as several anime films. Their first releases are live action in nature (you can see their trailers
here) but they have a number of anime titles in the queue as well that we'll be looking at. "We're going to be putting out the classic anime films Animal Treasure Island, Puss 'n Boots, and Taro the Dragon Boy. They all will have the original Japanese language, anamorphic widescreen, and the English dub." These are the movies that were released in the 70's but they also have some more recent and surprising material as well, such as Lupin the 3rd Strange Psychokinetic Strategy (Rupan sansei: Nenrikichan sakusen), Lupin the Third Legend of the Gold Babylon (Rupan sansei: Babiron no Ogon densetsu) and Lupin the Third Fuma Conspiracy (Rupan sansei: Fûma ichizoku no inbô). They have a number of titles set for release across the end of this year and into late next year and we'll update as we get more firm information.
