Disney Delays PIRATES Online

Usually, games in nature relating to a movie are planned corresponding with the movies release in theaters. Not so with the upcoming online PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN game. It was initially scheduled for launch back in May but now it's been delayed from the market till the fall. It seems that Disney doesn't want to rush out this online capable game until they know they have a project that beta testers enjoy.
Who really can blame them when you look at the success of games like Blizzard's WORLD OF WARCRAFT? Variety has reported that Disney will most likely try to bring out the game around the time that “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” comes out on DVD. Walt Disney Internet Group (DIG), which is publishing the game, decided to push back the release based on feedback from beta testers. DIG is ending beta testing July 16 and won’t restart it until September.
With these online games bringing in so much money per month for years, nobody can really blame them for waiting for a better product.
Thanks to Maniac scooper DaForce for the headsup!
