Disney Has Their SAMURAI

Walt Disney Pictures has signed Walt Becker  to direct and produce MY SAMURAI.

The action comedy to be written by Matt Lopez, centers on an American who, while on a business trip to Japan, saves the life of a homeless man who claims he's the last in a long line of samurai. The businessman's life is turned upside down when the so-called samurai shows up on his doorstep, pledging eternal service and loyalty.

David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman will produce.

Might be fun.....as long as they get a quality actor to play the samurai, someone like Ken Watanabe or Beat Takeshi. Also not some duufus like Jim Belushi to play the American......

How about this. Tim Allen as the American business man, and Wesley Snipes as the samurai. It's a long shot, but you never know.

Aside from doing Wild Hogs, I'm not sure if that (Wild Hogs) was done by a subsidary studio of Walt Disney, but what I recall is Tim Allen having signed a 3-picture deal with Walt Disney Pictures, and My Samurai might be his next acting gig...Then again, I could be wrong.
