Disney made the acquisition for a reason; I don't see them messing things up too much with Marvel.

Everyone's concerned about Disnifying the Marvel characters, but consider the opposite - Ultimate Mickey Mouse, for example - lol.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm with Silversurfer.  I think this could be awful...

Pluto will be the new mascot for the Avengers.

Iron Man will have to team up with Goofy.

Captain America will be sporting Mouse ears.

X-force will now be joined by Chip and Dale (the Chipmunks, not the male strippers).

Donald Duck's speech impediment will be revealed as a side-effect of his mutation -- he will join the X-men.

My real question is, how does this affect comic publications?  What does Disney know about comic books?

At LEAST tell me this means they'll fire that douche bag Joe Quesada!!!!

All crossing over jokes aside. I am a big fan of Kingdom Hearts. Not just the game but the cheesy story that comes along with it. Partly cause im a sucker for that but mainly because its just plain cool to see disney character that I grew up with in another world. Another world I grew up with. So I hope they do try and cross some lines but don't go to far and respect each others boundaries.

my favorite is the Scrooge supervillian joke. Big ducktails fan. Fuck Darkwing Duck

JOE Q needs to be in this thread with some funny s.

all i have to say is, glad to be a stockholder. I'm not worried at all, Disney has a family friendly exterior, but they have made some darker or more action oriented stuff...The Sixth Sense, Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction...the mouse was behind all of those...they just don't put that stamp on in the beginning like they do the kid movies. I feel good about this being a big fan of marvel and of disney.

in terms of how comic books will go, i think they know where they stand on it and i think they know how well marvel is about to do in the coming years in theatres. i see them leaving those properties of marvel be (with an eye on them of course), but really kind of coexisting and coming together for games, theme park attractions, and what i think could be some awesome animated straight to DVD releases and merchandise.

Wow, say goodbye to R rated and violent comic book movies. Who are the Avengers gonna save Arial from that octo-mom lady. Christ this blows .

This can only be one of two things.  There will be no inbetween.  It will either be the best thing that could have ever happened to Marvel and the comic industry for that matter.  Or it will be the worst thing that could have ever happened.  I do know one thing, Disney has to be gentle and take their time with this.  I'm excited about the Marvel / Pixar possibilities but I am sure it will be years before we see anything involving that combination.
