Continuing its recent practice of looking to its own past for films to make, the Disney is beginning work on a remake of 1959's talking dog comedy, THE SHAGGY DOG. This comes only eight years after it remade the film in 1994 for television.
The film tells the story of a man transformed into a talking dog by a magical spell. It will be written by Jack Amiel and Michael Begler, who have previously penned episodes for MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE.
According to the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, the studio is looking for this to be one of its major releases, sporting a major star, in the next few years.
