Seems like a PC version of “Alien Nation” to me, but seems to look more interesting than “Transformers 2”.
Much like today's Transformers 2 trailer, here's another highly anticipated video clip which was going through various bootleg wars in the online community this week. Apple has officially premiered the first teaser trailer for Neill Blomkamp's District 9, an upcoming Sony Pictures-produced sci-fi feature based on his short film "Alive in Joburg."
You genre fans will remember Neill Blomkamp from those Halo: Arms Race shorts that Peter Jackson had commissioned to help convince studios for a Halo movie. While those hopes eventually fell through because of budgetary concerns, Jackson was impressed with Neill's work and signed on board as executive producer for this upcoming alien tale.

Plot Concept: An extraterrestrial race forced to live in slum-like conditions in Johannesburg, South Africa suddenly find a "kindred spirit" in a government agent that is exposed to their mysterious biotechnology.
There's also a bit of an viral campaign going for District 9 with websites like MNUSpreadsLies.com, MathsFromOuterSpace.com and MultiNationalUnited.com.

I agree that it looks interesting. I love the way they blot out is face....that was funny. I know this is a South African movie, but I can't help but notice a parallel to a similar situation here in the US. Immigration, particuarly Illeagel Immigrants. I think it is an interesting concept and can't wait to see more about this.
I like this. It's like Alien Nation, except the aliens actually LOOk like aliens instead of humans with spots on their heads. It also raises the qustion: Can we really deal with alien life when we can't even deal with each other?

The meat of the plot is in there, and it probably sells the movie more than the teaser does.
This movie had me anticipating pretty good until they show the alien. Like 316mio said... it's a fucking cockroach! For me it turned from an Indenpendence Day serious type of feel, to Men in Black type of feeling.
Interesting. Kinda looks like the lovechild of V, Alien Nation, and ID4.
Looks good I think it's something I'd want to see, same with "Moon" both look appealing...of course I have to see Star Trek first :P
This movie looks great. Looks like a realistic approach to aliens comming to earth. I'm Definately going to go see this movie.

Makes me think of the Buggers from Ender's Game.
Looks interesting,but the alien being interrogated looks like a giant ant or roach......yuuuk!!!
