Actor Djimon Hounsou gained notice recently for nabbing an Oscar nomination for his role in Warner Bros distributed BLOOD DIAMOND. Now, it looks like he will be getting trained in the style of martial arts for an upcoming role. The actor has been cast in GET SOME as a martial arts coach (and mentor) in the film being produced by Summit Entertainment and Mandalay Pictures.
The story for GET SOME centers around an Iowa youth who moves to Florida to join a Fight Club style fighting group for teens. Housou's character will be training the youth and serve as said mentor. Amber Heard (ALPHA DOG) has been cast as the youth's girlfriend and Cam Gigandet (Fox's OC show) as his best friend.
Filming is set to begin in the next few days.
