Chiwetel Ejiofor can do the physical work as well. He was pretty damn near perfect as the Operative in "Serenity".

I agree this is just an animatic and not near finished look. Hounsou is a good choice for the voice. However I don't think they can go wrong with either choice of actors Djimon Hounsou or Chiwetel Ejiofor ( who would of course have to start packing on the muscles ) - but I have always believed that Djimon Hounsou was the best actor ( physically, voice and talent ) live-action Black Panther.

Djimon is a hell of an actor and I wish this will be his stepping stone to a live action movie of the Black Panther. He has great acting chops and has that regalness about him that could make him a king in A black panther movie. Don Cheadle would be good but now he's Rhodey. Lawernce Fishburne also has that regalness about him but he is tooo old to be T'Challa.  So My bet is that if this series is good they should go with a live action and keep the same actor!

I think we all are in accord that either actor could play the role of T'Challa in a live action film.

But who would play his wife, Storm? (Yes I know it would not happen since fox owns the movie rights to all things X) I think Naomi Campbell looks to part but she can't act, Halle is fine as hell but I never liked her much in that role (especially in the first movie - that wig was horrible). Of course David Bowie's wife Iman looks like she was the model for Storm but she is to old now. So who?

Somebody mentioned Larry Fishbourne as T'Challa - maybe as his father the king before he hands off the heart shaped jewel/herb to him

I would not mind this animi style either.  It might be cheap to do.  I think straight adaptations from the comics is long overdue.  I can't wait to tell friends I watch BET when that airs.

Dazzler, I'd be careful with what you ask for.  Did anyone see Marvel's cheap animatic translation of Ultimate Daredevil using the original art?

People come on now, John Romita Jr. did this in a Jack Kirby way. I went to the intern'l  Comic Con 08 & this is what he explained back in July. So  stop complaining about the art work & just appreciate it.

How come there is no White Entertainment Network? WET....I think it would work....anyway.....I think it is a cool chocie, but won't it be kind of limited by putting it on BET? I mean, I am psyched to see a black Hero out there getting done other than Blade, but they should more mass market it. I only watch BET when I want reassurance that I talk with a nerdy voice and walk with my ass checks clenched, but I guess this might be marketed more towards younger black males then anything.

Djimon doesn't fit the character of T'Challa.  He is from Africa and he is black.  The "likeness" ends there.  Brad Pitt could play Batman.  He is rich and he is white.  The "likeness" ends there.  Said it before, the story should center on a younger T'Challa going to school in America.  During his stay he witnesses an "event" that inspires him to put on his ceremonial garb and "right the wrong".  Later, it becomes what we know as his costume.  Don't know his skill set as an actor, but I think Tyson Beckford looks the part.  Hell, the man looks like a cat.

Ejiofor should do the voice for the cartoon.
