The 5 Best and 5 Worst Movie Breaches of Comic Book Canon - Aug 13, 2008 - 09:46am
Batgirl and Bane were the two worst things about Batman & Robin. Their origins were totally screwed up. I Never even noticed the bat nipples until it was pointed out to me, and I still couldn't care less.
The only problem I had with Venom was they used him too much. He should have been introduced in the second to last or last scene to set him up as the major villain in part 4, much the same as Harry finding his dad's lair at the end of part 2 set him up as a villain in part 3. The only problem I had with Sandman was that he wasn't apprehended, Spidey just let him go. Forgive him or not, he's still a wanted criminal.
I thought X-Men 3 was the best of the series. I'm glad they killed off Cyclops, his moping would have realy gotten annoying. And judging by the final scene, Rogue and Mystique may very well get their powers back. Prof X did survive, he's just in another person's body.
Catwoman and Cathy Lee Crosby's Wonder Woman are the two worst things to ever happen to comic book adaptations.
10 Memorable Film Deaths by Non-Memorable Characters - Jul 31, 2008 - 09:17am
How about the elevator death in The Fly II.
And I totally agree with the cannonball death in The Patriot.
While the opening death in Jaws was iconic, I would put the death of the little boy on the list instead. That's one death scene that still gets me.
The Manic Maniac: The Comic Book is Dead - Jun 27, 2008 - 08:21am
In the comic,Peter Parker became Spider-Man after being bitten by a radioactive spider, not a genetically altered spider. Dr. Doom's origins were mystical, not tied into the Fantasic Four's. Movies are a different medium than comics. For the sake of time as well as to update a 30 to 60 year old orgin, some things need to be changed. As long as the spirit remains the same small changes are acceptable. By the way, Spider-Man veers farther from its origins than any recent superhero flick and just happens to be the most successful comic book film in history.
