A hairy BLADE?

There seems to be a cycle that happens every few years where there's a crop of vampire movies in development and no werewolf ones, or it's the other way around. Right now it seems we're approaching the height of the wolf craze. Wes Craven is filming CURSED, there's two new GINGER SNAPS movies coming soon, both VAN HELSING and UNDERWORLD have lycanthropes and vamps in them and there are more hairy projects in various stages of development.

You can add a new one to the growing list, and it's got a straightforward title to it. The Hollywood Reporter states that rapper-turned-movie star DMX is in talks to star in WEREWOLF, a new horror/action film to be directed by Dario Piana (who's also attached to direct a sci-fi project called SNAKESKIN.) Similar in its premise to BLADE, DMX's character is a bluesman who tracks down werewolves and destroys them. The mysterious hero is now facing the final pack of his enemies, and they're living the decadent lifestyle up in the Hollywood Hills. Wait a second, this is beginning to sound like a documentary now.

Phoenix Pictures is hoping cameras will roll this fall.
