There are a couple of comic previews online that we'd like to mention...
DNAgents Return
One of the earliest indie superhero comics is making its comeback this month. Shadowline and Image Comics have just released the 456 page 'DNAgents Industrial Strength Edition' trade paperback.
The book collects the 14 issue run of the series created by Mark Evanier and Will Meugniot in the early 1980s. Originally published by the now-defunct Eclipse Comics, DNAgents tells of a team of genetically engineered supherhumans who rebel against their coprorate owners at the Matrix corporation.
Meugniot, is an animator who has worked on everything from 'Ghostbusters' to 'X-Men' to 'Spider-Man', as well as more recent features like 'G.I. Joe vs Venom' and 'Ultimate Avengers 2'.
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the characteres Meugniot put together an animatic, using the same techniques he's used in the past to pitch TV shows. Check out the DNAgetnts video:
Meugniot also tells us he's looking to refocus on comics once more and is currently at work on a mini-series with writer Shannon Eric Denton, also for Shadowline and Image.
In the mean time, do yourself a favor and pick up the massive 'DNAgents Industrial Strength Edition', bargain priced at $24.99. For more info click over to Meugniot's website.
Our friends over at UGO.com point us to their exclusive preview up the new issue of 'Conan'.
'Conan The Cimmerian', the latest ongoing Conan series, finds Robert E. Howard's creation in full force, swinging deadly blades, cleaving flesh, and hearing the lamentations of the women. Check out a full preview of the first 6 pages of issue five, hitting stands on Nov. 19th.
I can't belive it was 1983 when the comic was first printed. It really must've made an impression on me as I still remember quite a bit about the series. And I still have all of the original books. Now if The Badger was to get released in a trade paperback format, life would be real good.
Heard about them but never picked up a book, guess it's time to pick up the collection.
