Can't wait for (SPOILER ALERT)
Amy Pond to be Gone! Yay! The season will automatically be better due to this. Though, I will miss Rory.
I'm with wrrlykam. I like the Daleks as much as the next whovian but the Doctor's history is so rich with interesting villians, let's see a new take on the Ice Warriors or Zygons or something else instead. Stop harping on the Daleks and give us a little variety.
Love the Doctor. For my money since its revival it has been the best sci-fi genre series ever!. Can't wait.
I guess I have to disagree with you guys about the Daleks... ONLY because this season is going to be the 50th anniversary of Dr. Who. How can you honor all 50 years without the Daleks being in there somewhere. I guessing this episode at least is meant to pay homage to them because of the anniversary.
Also, I don't hate the Amy as much as redhairs99, although she might be the least interesting companion so far to me of the new bunch. I do like Rory better than her though.
Also, I thought this season had it's moments. Neil Gaiman's episode, the Doctor's Wife, is a classic Who episode as far as I'm concerned and that episode alone made last season worthwhile.
Dr. Who without Daleks is like Star Trek without Klingons, Batman without the Joker, or Sherlock Holmes without Moriarty. It's the 50th Anniversary! Gotta have Daleks ( and hopefully, one of those episodes crammed full of the various incarnations of the Doctor!).
Redhairs and Goldeneyz, I have to disagree with you; Amy Pond has been one of my favorite Dr. companions. I already miss her.
Nice comparisons ObiWanna, but not quite accurate. Joker and Moriarty, they'd be more analogous to The Master (and I wouldn't mind at all seeing him back). But I agree, they are definitely one of the top two all-time enemies of the Doctor and I won't complain whenever they return. I also agree about Amy, I'm gonna miss her much more than Rory.
Personally I'd like to see a couple more of the old-school enemies reincarnated, The Valeyard and The Rani, the Ice Warriors and the Telepathic Spiders, or maybe have The Doctor revisit the 20th century (still wierd saying that in the past-tence) when Torchwood was still out to get him.
I'm all for not overusing a good villain, but its the Doctor's 50th. You can't have an anniversary like that without butting heads and armor with the #1 adversary.
I agree with you FerretJohn on the old-school enemies. It would be cool if the primary threats this year came out of the Doctor's long history, without creating too many newbies.
Sorry, but I just can't seem to get into the series as much as I use to. It just seems lacking. I'm over Tennant leaving, but I've just never warmed up to the new guy. His sidekick is hot, but that is about it. Shame...I really have liked the series up until the last two seasons.
No more Daleks! Yeah Moffit, pull the other one. The season trailer onformed that the Daleks were in this season. A disappointing season start with 'Let's kill Hitler'.
After last season's mixed bag, I'm hoping for better much better this time. You can do it Steve, we know you can.
