Doctor Who is the best show on TV.  There...I said it.

I'm surprised such a story is coming out this year.  I would think something like this would be more appropriate for the 2013 season, since that's the 50th Anniversary.   Glad to hear that the Special Weapons Dalek from Revelation of the Daleks will be making a return.  That was one of the few stories from the declining years of the classic series that was actually good.

I'm with Kara1.  Always the Daleks.  But, I love Who, and I'll certainly enjoy the new season, though I fear I shall shed a tear for Ms. Pond...

@ Munkey421e - At the end of the last series Moffat and co went on record saying that there will be no more Dalek stories for a long while as they have been over worked and the Doctor beats them to easily. And what do we see? First episode of of the next series is a Dalek story. Not that I'm complaining about seeing the Daleks. Just impressed on the U-turn, faster than a British chancellor with a pastie tax.

The picture of a classic series Dalek is fantastic. Can't wait.

Addition: Likely the idiom didn't cross the Atlantic very well. Pulling one's leg means to play a prank or to feed someone a line that isn't true. So a response to such a.n attempt, would be "Pull the other one it has bells on it", It a gentle challenge or rejoinder to a fanciful or bullshit statement or a tall tale. An idiom you use to tell someone that you do not believe what they have just said.

Wyldstaar, I think because of the Olympics this year in London, the season they are filming now will air mostly next year in 2013.  At least I was pretty sure I heard that somewhere.

Sorry but the last straw concerning Amy Pond for me was when they reformatted the show open and the main arcing storylines to focus completely on the companion rather than The Doctor.

Betenoire 6/27/2012 1:09:12 PM

The only part that surprises me is that they aren't saving the return of the Dalek's for the new companion to run into as that seems to be a pattern with the new show.

And for FerretJohn as to The Master

Possible spoiler?

Are rumors spoilers anyway?

I've seen talk that Moffat was looking to get/had talked about Benedict Cumberbatch for the role given the time between shooting Sherlock Holmes might allow. Given Cumberbatch loves Dr. Who and is a friend of Moffat this could happen, though he is pretty busy of late and the new Star Trek movie and his work in The Hobbit probably won't clear a bunch of space off his calander when it helps raise his awareness among the general population (and thus really gets Hollywood's attention)

Allas I miss the 9th Doctor we hardly knew ye and you brought many new fans into the series, if by chance we get to see more than 1 doc I would love to see 9, 7 and 4. Hpefully the season is a good one. I love when we have some continuity in the season even if that is hard in a series about jumping in and out of time.

Wait - someone's ragging on Pond? Would you prefer having Donna back?

The only companion better than Amy is Rose (at least in the new Who)
