The Fox executive axe hanging over the head of "Dollhouse" and Whedon fans dropped today, with HR reporting the network has officially canceled the series. Whedon's cult fave, which is filming episode 11, is expected to finish its 13-episode order but it's not clear if Fox will air the remaining episodes starting December 4, 2009 as originally planned.

After some dismal performance in the fall, despite the ratings bumps "Dollhouse" got from DVR viewing, Fox benched the show for the November sweep after four episodes.

Sound off the decision below.

Fox -- Always Ready To Make A Bad Decision.

That should be the company slogan.

Whedon really just needs to stay away from Fox.

Well I can't say that I'm suprised. I left the show at the end of season 1 when they had Eliza all supered up and  I'm thinking, "FINALLY! now they're gonna go and let her go after the dollhouse while trying to stop Alpha."

But at the end of the episode she's back in the chair and I'm like WTF!? so my brain went "Okay, thats it! I'm outta here!!!" Followed shortly by my body.

Simply put the premise was okay but it had been poorly executed. And having Dushku in the lead roll didn't help any.

I love Whedon, I enjoyed dollhouse. But I have to say its Whedon's own damn fault, he's an idiot for having another show on fox. We all knew this would happen. Maybe next time he will try somewhere else.

Stargate Universe was beating Dollhouse in the ratings so it comes as no surprise.  SGU is on cable and doesn't get into as many homes as Dollhouse would.  That was just inevitable Dollhouse would be canned.

This is no surprise.  It is a bit of a dissapointment after that last episode.  Sierra's episode was fantastic and I had been hoping that was going to be more the rule than the exception.

GOOD! SHould have happened last season! Interesting premise but they never seemed to figure out what to do with it! NExt time get come up with a plot to go with the premise!

It was inevitable because it was Whedon and it was on Fox.  I hope he has learned his lesson.

I knew it would happen! Especially after they axed the Sarah Connor Chronicles. It was a good show too. Now Stargate Universe beat Dollhouse in ratings? Wow. I love the whole Stargate Franchise but to me Stargate Universe is a total Yawn Fest right now!!! Who needs Melatonin, hahahahaha. As for Dollhouse I just happen to be one of the folks that didnt give the show a chance hence my contribution to the shows downfall !!! Sorry guy's. Looks like my obstaining from watching the show does count after all.

At 09:00pm on Fridays I'm watching Medium.  I catch SG:U on the 11:00 replay.  I've never seen Dollhouse.

I would have liked to, not so see Eliza Duzhku(sp?) because I was never a big fan of Faith.  But I would have liked to see Tamoh Pennekit(sp?) whom I really liked on BSG.

Now, I guess I won't have the chance and I'm not all that broken up about it.
