With X-Men: First Class hitting the DVD and Blu-ray streets today, mega producer Lauren Shuler Donner traveled the online marketing landscape this week in promotion of the release. And of course, everyone hit her up on the upcoming X-Men projects as SuperHeroHype reports below. With The Avengers, Man of Steel and The Dark Knight Rises in production and taking up so much of the news lately, Donner reminded the fans this week that The Wolverine is ready to go as soon as Hugh Jackman has an opening, a Deadpool movie is still coming and they want another X-Men: First Class installment under the guidance of director Matthew Vaughn.

For The Wolverine:

"It's much more of a standalone [movie]..[We want] to distinguish it from the other one... I'm not sure when we'll start. Maybe summer 2012 we'll start shooting. It's based on Hugh [Jackman]'s schedule, frankly. When he's available, we'll film. ...He's doing 'Les Miserables', and then he has to come and train for us. So it's all dependent on him."

In regards to the Deadpool movie, Donner confirms to IAmRogue and TotalFilm that they want Ryan Reynolds back for the character, they still have Tim Miller as the director to lead it and that they wish to go a different direction than the one was witnessed in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

"We're working on getting it ready," she continued, "and presenting some things to the studio, cause we're gonna give it a little bit of a different look. It's a different kind of movie. If you know 'Deadpool''s true to 'Deadpool'. So you know, it'll be violent, and outrageous, and funny, and all that."

"With Ryan absolutely. Can you see anybody else in it?

"[H]e was treated totally wrong in the Wolverine film and yes we will redeem him,” Donner said, "...We have a few more things to do and then it's up to the studio to decide whether we're going to go forward or not.”

And as said above, she confirmed to HitFix that she wants Matthew Vaughn back as the director to tackle on any sequel to this summer's origin tale. Check out her comments here.

Expectations for anything X-Men is pretty low. Til they do a proper reboot my enthusiasm for the franchise is ebbing.

So Deadpool will be a dark comedy, that's what his comic is afterall. I bet it'll be bloodless violence in order to get that pg13 rating. Maybe they can do stylistic blood where you don't see the red but maybe just the shadow or silhouette of the splatter. This way maybe you can retain a pg13, LOTR managed to do it with plenty of violence. I'd be there opening day either way

Movie producers should run for Congress, they can spew hypocritical B.S. that completely contradicts their previous statements.  I love how Donner has the balls (yeah, a chick, I know) to actually say that the version of Deadpool from Origins was "treated totally wrong in the Wolverine film" as though she had nothing to do with it.  I remeber reading her comments before that turkey was released saying fans would not be disappointed with Deadpool.  Does she have short term amnesia or did she just suddenly discover good taste in her old age?

Oh, and Wiseguy there is supposed to be an awesome rated "R" script out there so I hope you're wrong, but with FOX producing, I wouldn't bet against you.

Good to hear her actually admit they screwed up Deadpool and will do right by him.

Ryan...really?  Is there no other smart a$$ actors out there besides Van WIlder?  The guy is death to comic to film adaptations.  And, lately, a box office nightmare.

X-Men First Class was simply one of the best comic book films made.  I'm on board for a second film.  First we got to see how Prof X got his we would get to see how he lost his beautiful mane of hair.  Vaughn can do no wrong at this point for me.

X-men First Class was a good comicbook movie. It was not a good X-men movie.

I'm looking forward to the day Marvel Studios gets these rights back and give the characters justice.

Ryan's perfect for Deadpool, maybe not so much for Hal Jordan  but Deadpool there is no other choice.

As long as he's in the traditional costume and tone of the comics im all in for it.
